The third installment in the series sees a reluctant victim battling nature, pirates, and the island's insanity-inducing jungle to rescue his friends and family from an island paradise gone horribly wrong.
New Far Cry 3 gameplay!
Wow, that looks awesome. That mushroom quest reminds of a similar mission in the shivering isles dlc for oblivion and point lookout in fallout 3,
Looking very interesting. I assume you have the ability to turn off the minimap or it disappears in certain places (?), since it doesn't seem to be visible everywhere. I really loved not having anything cluttering up the screen in FC2.
Also, what is going on at 2:35? =| Looks like a bunch of terracotta warriors?

Kinda wish I didn't see the part about the mushrooms. I would have enjoyed that part a lot more not knowing about it.
Yeah, I was thinking that too, it really felt a lot like a spoiler D:
I really hate watching to much of it, but damn it looks good.

Yeah I thought that was PC quality, if that was console footage, I'm stoked.

I don't understand the hatred for Far Cry 2. I enjoyed the shit out of that game.
I'm super psyched about Far Cry 3, just because shit looks C-R-A-Z-Y!
I bought FC2 day 1 and still play it every now and then. It's one of my favorite games this gen.
But I can understand why many people dislike it. Guardposts respawn too quickly, malaria, travelingl is tedious, AI can see/ hear you from miles away ...
Did anyone else find the incoming fire indicators distracting? I guess coming off the minimalist hud of Far Cry 2 it's bound to be more noticeable, but I still hope they tone that down a bit. Otherwise it looks good, but it certainly looks different from the rest of the series in more than a few ways.
I never finished Far Cry 2. I crashed and burned on the second map. But what I played was awesome, I just didn't want to do it all over again. I hope they fix the problems with certain structuring and gameplay elements, but still, that game looked cool as hell.Meh. Got burnt by Far Cry 2. I'll just be skeptic until the game comes out.
Sometimes I would stop and just watch stuff burn.

Show me the map editor, Ubisoft!
This. I hope this time the map editor extends to the singleplayer though. Making multiplayer maps was fun but you couldn't do much once the community died and was done making maps or playing them. I'm hoping they do something similar to Infamous 2, allowing users to create their own user generated content. Imagine making your own enemy encounters or just linking a series of zip lines together and roaming around the map. You could create race events from one side of the Island to the next or even have your own brand of horde mode. Please Ubisoft, Pleeeease.
Also for anyone interested Gamespot has some more gameplay footage spliced in between the trailer footage.

Did you watch stuff burn while doing a Beavis voice yelling FIRE! FIRE! FIRE!
I've enjoyed every far cry game thats been released. Which yes....I enjoyed the wii port of instincts. Sure, none of them are as good as the original pc game, they have their own attractions. Far cry 2 just felt right. It didn't control perfectly on consoles, but it was flawless on the pc. As long as all you did was the story stuff, it was fine.
As I watched it burn, I would sometimes say, cool.@Claude said:
