I will admit that I broke down and tried it for a few minutes. Then once I saw the first pop up begging me to spam friends to get anywhere in the game I said to myself "What the fuck are you doing?" I then closed that tab, made this thread, and am now typing these words.
EDIT: Ahh fuck cakes. I for got to add an "a" in between for and little in option B. I'm a terrible person...
FarmVille
Game » consists of 4 releases. Released Jun 19, 2009
Played by millions, FarmVille is a farm simulation game that takes advantage of the Facebook social network and your time.
Has "Betting the Farmville" made you try Farmville?
@Haru48 said:It should be. Polls make everything better. Just ask dancers or a flag.NoThere's already a thread for this, but not in poll form. Is this typically allowed?
Already had a farm from back in the day of it first coming out, things have changed. So I just helped out Steve by adding him and gifting him stuff.

I played Farmville when it first came out. I already beat it.
Did you send the Game Complete code in to Zynga and get the "I played Farmville for a long time and all I got was this lousy T-shirt" -T-shirt?
I have no testicles but the first option.
I understand a lot of people here are mere sheep that follow the crew, but seriously, no, its horrible (or so I have been told/spammed to death by friend requests and shit from it).
No love for these social facebook games, they're not games, they're timesinks (unfun ones, I prefer sinking my time into a RPG).
But to each his own.
No, although it's convinced me that people who hate that game are a little blinded by their nerd bias against Facebook and the word "social gaming" because it doesn't seem all that bad as a light MMORPG type deal. I mean, I'm not saying that people aren't allowed to hate Farmville, but the damning bias against it seems a little harsh given the footage I've seen.
Nope. In fact it's further solidified my stance to never play it. After just a few episodes, I kinda never want to see the game again. I now know exactly what I've been missing, and it's not much.

@Brendan: I don't know. I didn't have any strong feelings about FarmVille before this, and now I feel like it's pretty gross. It literally seems like a game where you wait, or pay money to wait less. Granted, there is the social element that hasn't been explored yet, but that sounds like more of the same. Just instead of spending money to help things along, you advertize for them. The whole thing seems like one very clever marketing scheme that's almost a game.
Take away all preconceptions about the differences between Farmville and a lot of other FTP MMO's, and what have you got? A pretty similar game, except that you click to farm instead of attack, and you have a screen full of farm stuff rather than fantasy creatures and goofy weapons. If you dislike the idea of micro transaction games in general then that's a different conversation, but to me the opinion against Farmville seems to be in the same grain as CoD: It's "in" with the kind of people that a proper nerd shouldn't like, and therefore Farmville is for terrible people. From what I saw from Lemon's version of events there's enough goofy stuff going on in that game that it doesn't seem lazy by design or lacking in the type of content that a game filled with that kind of stuff would have, it just has super cotton instead of rare weapon drops. I understand that there are significant differences in playstyle, but the hate I see for Farmville seems to be on a matter of principle that's not necessarily directly toward Farmville itself. I'm not into Farmville but I don't hate it in all caps on the internet like a lot of people love to.
Yeah. But more then that, it's the gamification of social relationships, and it really seems to demand a level of narcissism that I'm not capable of. The scary thing is that internet usage is steadily rising. But internet usage minus Facebook.com is steadily decreasing. People are starting to do nothing online but stare at themselves.@Ragdrazi said:
I don't use Facebook.Thought i was the only one who hadnt been brainwashed. Still feels great my life stays personal and private.
And yeah, Internet hate is always pretty silly, no matter the object.
I logged in once after the first video to see what the hell the difference was between the coins and the cash, but otherwise, no.

@Brendan: Fair enough, but I think most of those free to play games pretty gross as well, so at least I'm not specifically bias against FarmVille. The problem is that for FTP to work, it has too be as much about spending money or marketing as it is about being a game, and I find that is usually a pretty good way to make an annoying experience without much satisfaction. And yeah, Internet hate is always pretty silly, no matter the object.
I've never liked a FTP game I've tried either, so I'm not a fan of Farmville for probably the same reasons that you aren't. I find them all pretty boring to be honest.
