    Faydwer is an ancient and magical land. Many of the creatures found here, such as the faeries, unicorns, and brownies, are thought to be mythical by people not from Faydwer. It is here that Brell Serlis' children, the dwarves and gnomes, unearthed themselves. The dragons of Norrath once dominated the continent, as they did every land, and hints of their existence can still be witnessed centuries later. The continent lies across the Ocean of Tears to the east of Antonica. Faydwer has some of the most beautiful forests in the world of Norrath, which are surrounded by magnificent moutain ranges.

    During the Age of Blood, when the elves of Tunaria (Antonica) were forced to flee the Elddar Forest after the scorching droughts caused by Solusek Ro, they sailed here, to Faydwer. The relatively friendly dwarves and gnomes welcomed Tunare's children to the land, while the fae didn't take too kindly what they saw as an invasion of their forests.

    EverQuest

    During the Age of Turmoil, Faydwer was the launching point for many of Norrath's greatest adventurers. Ships arrived and departed daily that crossed the Ocean of Tears to the human port city of Freeport. Unlike the warring races of Antonica or Odus during this age, the dwarves, gnomes, and elves of Faydwer generally got along well. The elves were successful, after one failed attempt, in establishing an outpost on the newly rediscovered continent of Kunark. Massive ships sailed constantly back and forth across the Timorous Deep taking all those on the side of good to the new lands.

    EverQuest II

    During the Age of Destiny, Faydwer was lost after the cataclysm that ripped Norrath asunder. After the refugees had established themselves in either Qeynos or Freeport, they began exploring their broken world. It was not too long before Faydwer was rediscovered. Much had changed over the last 500 years. For example, the fae had re-established their dominance of the forest and kobolds had overtaken the once mighty dwarven city of Kaladim. Several relics of the Age of Turmoil remained though, including Kelethin, Castle Mistmoore, and the mountains of both Steamfont and Butcherblock.
