Remember how after the Activision-Blizzard merger they basically cancelled all of Sierra's retail games? Well now Warner Brothers, who own Monolith, swooped in and grabbed the F.E.A.R. name back from them at a low cost. Thus, as of today, Project Origin is officially called F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin.
For the record, Monolith still doesn't consider Perseus Mandate or Extraction Point canon.
Project Origin officially renamed F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin
ya I know they don't consider those terrible expansions part of the story, that was all Sierra..is this 100% now? I mean somewhere I can find the story? this is great news..I mean name never bothered me much, since I understhood why it couldn't have FEAR in the title..but just the name alone I was guessing would make it more of a sleeper since so many people are interested in other games..and just "project origin" doesn't stick out as anything exciting..so this is great that more people will recognize what it is.
Ah.. IGN, no idea why I didn't check there, I have the window open -.- Thanks anyway Vax, as said before this is good news..hopefully this will be a bit less of a sleeper then I thought it would be, the name being the main reason. Doubted anyone would ponder what 'project origin' was.
This is surprising. I'd rather them keep it either F.E.A.R. 2 or Project Origin, rather than a mix of the two. But I guess Project Origin should be it's only name because it's only fair on the guy who won the competition.
