    Development

    Fear Effect Reinvented was first announced in August 2017 by Sushee, a French developer who had also developed Fear Effect: Sedna. For a couple years, the game's development went dark. It was later revealed that the game had been moved from Sushee to MegaPixel Studio, a Polish developer behind the The House of the Dead and Panzer Dragoon remakes.

    It is believed that MegaPixel mostly started over from scratch. A trailer for the game surfaced during Gamescom in August 2022 with a release date listed as "sooner than you think".

    The original Fear Effect games were published by Eidos Interactive, which eventually was acquired by Square Enix. Reinvented is fully authorized by Square Enix through the Square Enix Collective program and published by Forever Entertainment.
