Gaming's first female antagonists appeared in the Pac-Man series, where several of the ghosts are female, including Pinky in 1980's Pac-Man and Sue in 1982's Ms. Pac-Man.

The first human female villain appeared in the 1985 cinematic arcade game Road Blaster, where the final boss, the gang leader, was female.

Since then, female antagonists have often appeared in video games as witches and sorceresses.
