The official announcement of the game's cancelation.

Fez II was announced with a trailer on June 13, 2013 at the Horizon Indie Game Conference coinciding with E3 2013 (Concept). However, according to a statement released by Polytron's official Twitter account on July 27, 2013, the game has now been cancelled. The tweet read:

"It's with a heavy heart that we announce that FEZ II has been cancelled and is no longer in development. We apologize for the disappointment"

On the same day, Fez (Game) creator Phil Fish (Person) stated on his personal Twitter account that he is "getting out of games" because he chooses "not to put up with this abuse anymore." Fish's announcement regarding Fez II's cancellation and his exit from the game industry followed a lengthy series of tweets in response to antagonizing comments made by Marcus Beer (Person) on the GameTrailers Invisible Walls podcast.
