Many games have ammo. In some, you can design your own. Ammo is put in a weapon and fired as a projectile.
Assault Rifle refers to a basic design of a weapon that combines the abilities of older long-range rifles and the rapid fire of sub-machine guns. Common designs include the M-16, M-4, AK47 (and 74), and the L85A1.
A baton is a weapon used mainly for law enforcement. Kurtis Stryker from the Mortal Kombat series uses a baton.
This term can refer to both a visible shot onscreen in a shooter, or a round that has been fired from or currently loaded into a weapon.

Considered one of the most frequent and controversial implements of destruction in video games and real life, guns are devices that fire projectiles with explosive force.
A traditional sword originating in Japan.
Used to open doors, or anything else that is locked. In any game where the player has an inventory, it's a safe bet that a key will appear at some point.
A keycard is a plastic card with a magnetic strip, chip, or other circuitry, programmed to allow passage through locked doors. May also require a passcode or password of some kind.
A knife is a commonly seen object in video games. Usually used for close quarters combat, or as a cutting tool.
A ladder is used to gain access to higher or lower ground. Also used as a weapon in most wrestling games.
A laser is a focused beam of light, invisible through the air without some other medium (such as smoke) to illuminate it. Lasers are often used in video games as part of a targeting system, or as an offensive weapon in their own right.
This classic plumbing fixture-turned-weapon is a common standby for street fighters and serial-killer-hunting detectives everywhere.
A storage utility usually used for items. In video games however, they have a different use: hiding.

The most powerful weapon at short range. Effective against Zombies, Nazis, Demons, etc. Videogame shotguns tend to have exaggerated inaccuracy at long range- real life shotguns are still fairly accurate over a decent distance, while videogame shotguns rarely go more than fifteen feet before becoming completely ineffective.
