The American version of the best Final Fantasy game celebrates it's 20th birthday today, and with that celebration comes a Wu-Tang mash-up. Named Final Fantasy - The Named Chambers and remixed by artist 2 Mello, the album mixes together various pieces of the Final Fantasy VI soundtrack and music from The Wu-Tang Clan rap group.

I heard the GBA version has extra content. And the Steam version is apparently a port of the Android version, so you might want to avoid that. Virtual Console or PS1 Classic is probably the way to go if you don't have a GBA.

Probably still the SNES version. PS1 has load times and slowdown for everything, GBA has issues with slowdown and sound desync, and iOS is just terrible.

The Wu and games do go way back! Nice idea.

Definitely the SNES version is the best @alistercat but having played both the SNES and PS1 classic version I could definitely recommend the latter if you don't have easy access to a SNES. Yeah it's not perfect but honestly you probably won't notice and the game is excellent regardless.

This sounds fantastic. It's a very similar style to the Team Teamwork stuff.

This is staggeringly good. I was kinda expecting a hack job.

EDIT: Okay some of the weird additions are not very good, but the general mashup elements are pretty fantastic. Shimmy Shimmy Strago is awesome.

Loved FF6. FF5 had a more interesting combat system with Jobs, and didn't require switching gems every 5 minutes, but FF6 had great characters+story.

Replayed FF6 this past month. Love this game.

The narration from 2mello is so heartfelt that it transcends cheesiness. Great mixtape. Protect ya neck!

Agreed. It's very well done but still so dumb in the best ways.

    Wait, there's a Steam version?

I emulated the GBA version for a little while and the music sounds absolutely awful. Some people don't mind it, but FFVI's music was one of the highest points of that game for me and I cannot, in good conscience, recommend that someone play the version that sounds like crap. You might not mind it. God, I couldn't play that version.

I played the PS1 version earlier this year and its load times aren't prohibitively bad, but it's pretty much the SNES version anyway so if you can get the SNES version then by all means, play that one.

My mistake. It's FFVII that's on steam.
