Every once in a while, I'll be looking online for classic games that, for one reason or another, I've never played. I'll obsess and obsess and finally, I'll get my hands on it. I call it a hunt.

My new target is Final Fantasy VI Advance.

Any tips from the community on purchasing this classic would be much appreciated.

I recommend the PS1 version. That's my tip.

Another tip: Get your used games from Ebay. That's where I get most of the games I get that aren't brand new. I never owned the GBA version (I have played it, though.), and really, it's probably the worst version to get.

The music, arguably one Nobuo Uematsu's greatest works yet, got really screwed over on the GBA version. The music is one of the things that makes this game so great.

See, I've been hearing the exact opposite, and since usually people in this community are spot on and pretty cool, I'm gonna have to look deeper into it. Thanks for the heads up.
