I'm doing a little experiment where I'm not using Sazh until I get over 1,000,000 CP, then I'm gonna unleash all hell and make him into like an ultimate character, based on what I feel I am lacking in. It's definitely looking like he's going to be my main Ravager, I would use Hope for that but he's really my main Healer. So eventually my ultimate party will be Snow Sazh and Hope. But I'm also wondering about if it's even possible to get over 1,000,000 CP because it doesn't look like the text has any room for more digits. I currently have 940,275 for him and I'm just wondering if anyone has ever had over 1000000 CP for a character, and if it's safe. I know some games actually reset things like that if it gets too high.
PS - It took me over 30 hours to get that much CP :P

Final Fantasy XIII
Game » consists of 17 releases. Released Mar 09, 2010
This entry into the Final Fantasy universe is set in the worlds of Pulse and Cocoon. Players take control of multiple characters who are caught in a war between these worlds.
1,000,000 CP?
" Why the hell would you do that? "Well, later on when you can unlock the other three roles for your characters, they cost a lot more to train those skills. I want to make sure I pick one of those correctly, and then get all the stats from that characters main three roles. So it'll be like i'm getting the stats I need from my main roles (For Sazh: COM, RAV, SYN) and pick another role that I feel I would need, like SAB, for the role's skills. I just don't want to waste a lot of my CP early on because those other three roles cost a shit ton, I'm talking like 24,000 per orb.
OK I'm at 950,000 right now so I will save shortly before I hit 1 million and post the results.

" Was it worth it? "Yeah. My Sazh is a pretty good Medic and can handle taking care of them team while Hope is a Ravager and Snow is a Commando, both doing insane damage. I would have put Sazh as the Ravager, but then I realized that Hope would be much better suited. Not only that, Sazh and Hope together as Synergists make buffing twice as fast, while Snow takes damage as a Sentinel.

Fang has the highest attack rating in the whole game, and Lighting makes a really good all rounder.
" @xyzygy said:Does she really? I fucking love Fang, I just would have thought that Snow would have higher attack. Does Snow have the most health? I mainly keep him around as a Sentinel anyway. I use Lightning sometimes as a Commando but her weapons aren't upgraded like Snow's are, I need to find some Urananite to upgrade the Gladius into Helter-Skelter." @extremeradical said:Why no love for the ladies? Once you get the growth egg item (doubles cp) you can farm about 1mil CP an hour killing behemoths in the northern highlands. With some of the higher level abilities costing 120k CP each you really have to amass a on of CP to get everyone maxed out in all classes, but the grind is simple and atleast the music is nice. I woudn't save much CP tho because the more you use it the more powerful you become and saving it only makes fights harder because you could just spend it to be stronger (obv).
I guess my question is, don't all the characters eventually balance out to the same thing? Do they not all learn the same spells and techniques from the crysta... whateverium. I was really enjoying my Lightning/Hope/Fang combo, even though I made Lightning into a commando and the game seems to want to force her into the ravager role. But getting a stagger and doing commando/ravager/commando combo with those three was awesome. Now I have Lightning/Snow/Vanille and they kind of suck.
Long story short, will the new 3 not keep upgrading to how the old three were since they have all the same jobs available to them

I'm pretty sure that when you max out certain weapons, they will be a huge addition to their stats so If you want Sazh to be a commando, upgrade his all STR weapon and the such. Also, don't the characters have some moves only they can learn? So far, Vanille is the only one who knows Death, Sazh is the only one who knows Vigilance, etc for me. Plus they all have unique skills." I guess my question is, don't all the characters eventually balance out to the same thing? Also, I think the reason you felt Lightning was being forced into Ravager is because Hope was the medic, right? Well Fang doesn't even have Ravager from the start so Lightning would be the obvious choice.
" OK, I got it and it's safe, in case anyone wants to try it. All that happens is the CP goes to 999,999 and never gets any higher, so anything you get past there will be wasted :( "I have to ask. Where are you getting all the CP? I'm on chapter 10 and the most I'm getting is 600 CP per fight.

It's already been said, but there are MUCH better ways to farm post-game and during Chapter 12/13 (but especially post-game). I wouldn't waste too much time farming inefficiently before you beat the game. You're making all the achievements take longer than necessary.
That said, feel free to continue your method, all that matters is you enjoy it.
Haha, to go by this thread, my character role choices are totally messed up. I'm not making use of any magic roles at all for Snow, for one (which might explain why he's never in my party)
" Haha, to go by this thread, my character role choices are totally messed up. I'm not making use of any magic roles at all for Snow, for one (which might explain why he's never in my party) "Haha, I have one way of using Snow where he has nothing put into his strength... I upgraded the Feymark and use him as a Ravager sometimes, along with a Wierding Mark. He's not half bad as a Ravager. He's got about 1400 Magic right now
" I wonder if it'll glitch out once you hit 1,000,000 and reset to zero? "If only I can be there when he sees that happen.
Not meaning to burst your bubble, but post end game I earn 80k cp from a single fight using my growth egg. The toises must flow! at 4mins a piece then save and reload :p I'm sure you can do the math.
Here's a little help:
Lightning = Ravager
Hope = Medic
Vanille = Saboteur
Fang = Commando
Snow = Sentinel
Sazh = Synergist
Develop them that way, and make smart choices with your Paradigm decks, and you'll be set.
Oh, and as per you 1,000,000 CP idea, it's a waste. S-E tricks you into thinking you can customize your characters to your liking, but if you study the way the characters develop, you realize that you're playing an evolved version of the license grid. Everyone gets the same attacks/ abilities at different times, but there is no defense stat >_<
And no VICTORY FANFARE! What the hell S-E?!
