Which combat system do you expect, and which do you hope for? The Active Time Battle(a la VII and X-2), or the Conditional Turn-Based(a la X)
frankly, it looks like ATB, but I can still hope that it'll be CTB.

ATB or CTB?
I liked XII's system. I have no idea what it's called lol but I loved being able to see the monsters on screen.
Don't be stupid. This will be the single best game that has ever been created, regardless of what type of battle system it uses. And it's not a full CTB or ATB. It's a hybrid system. You have an ATB bar and any action that you take reduces the ATB bar. It either recharges slowly over time or gets a chunk back each turn, regardless, if you have no ATB bar left you can't do anything.

And I disagree that it'll be great anyway, because I ended up hating X-2 and VII(yes, VII) because of ATB.

Im hoping for CBT, really... But im also a fan of XII's system, so its not gonna be a game ruining decision :P
As far as I know its an ATB and there are no MPs or mana or fany kind so you simply let it charge a little more to use magic and if you let it charge a little you can do normal attacks. Overdrives are changed so that you fulfill a certain number of characteristics and unleash a related overdrive instead of just getting hit a lto whcih is far more logical.
its gotta be CTB for me. I like being able to stand still and strategize what I wanna do!
At least if there was the option to choose ATB or ATB, wouldnt have to worry. You could shift between the two whenever you like.
I think that the system will be more of the Final Fantasy XII ADB (Active Dimension Battle) system, incorporating more mobility in battle as well as an extra dimension to the combat that hasn't been announced yet.
"Its a mixture of 10 and 12 so its ATB. This is confirmed by SE.It does look like that. It looks more like actual input than the previous FFs though.

I really like that anyway if you really want turn based strategy take a look at the new valkyria game that is coming out.
