Ok, just nitpicking really (haven't even popped in the game) but as we all know the 360 version comes on 3 discs. Guess someone thought it was a good idea to pull a mistwalker and..... All 3 discs are on a single spoke (is that the right word? w/e). Is it really so much to ask to have multiple pages for the discs, I mean even the good ol' Last Remnant did it, but I guess FF13 isn't good enough for that >_>

Anyway, off to play the actual game :)

Irrelevant. Mass Effect 2 manages fine, and so does Last Remnant. It's a choice for production by Squeenix. They could have them separated if they chose to.

First Microsoft you mean, they published those 360 games from Mistwalker. Actually, Lost Odyssey only had this case in the US too. :\

I agree dude, surely it's not that much more costly to add some flaps. I don't want my discs getting scratched because of this bullshit.

Amazon is supposed to have my PS3 copy delivered today. I quite hope so too, I want to see if the PS3 version is different at all. Character's hair is honestly kind of fucked up on close up shots on the 360 version (not super bad, but noticeable) and I wanna see if the PS3 version is the same.

True enough, I totally forgot M$ funded all of LO, and yeah I remember other versions of the game having a thicker box and multiple pages for discs. Wish our copy had that.

I Still have both Blue Dragon and Lost Odyssey all discs in perfect condition. It's not that big of a deal.

He probably doesn't want a used PS3. They're $299 USD new, don't you know? And if you live in Canada like some, it's even more, not to mention the taxes and if you want a game with it it will come to $400 or more. I have no idea about Euro prices

The most I would accept on a single spoke is 2 disks (since you can have the textured sides touching to keep the data sides working) but 3 means 2 disks are getting damage at any one time. With Lost Odyysey it had a spoke and a paper case so I have 2 disks on the spoke and 2 in the paper case (which means it dosent close properly). I dont mind having to swap a disk during gameplay but I hate it when I get to the different disk and before I even play it I can already see some small scratch's. Its not the most important thing in the world but its really annoying.

Actually, my solution on Lost Odyssey was to have a friend who works at Blockbuster. They have 4-disc cases sitting around, so he just gave me a few. A quick swap of the jacket and the only problem is where to put the manual and it's not longer Day-glow green. Did it for Star Ocean, too (which was more than it deserved...). I hate to say it, but since I now have a PS3(wife loves Level 5, much to her chagrin with White Knight) I think my current answer is gonna tend more towards SteveVice's.

Isn't that alpha to coverage effect an issue with the PS3 version that could have been fixed with the 360 version? (i.e. the PS3 has always had issues with alpha textures)

It could either be three disks or look like Final Fantasy VII.  Tell me what you prefer.  My solution, get it on PS3.

How could anyone still be thinking about getting FFXIII on the 360, it's 576p vs 720p, come on, do we still care about the disk swaping?, I only have a 360 and I will wait a few months till I save for a ps3 and a few games (including FFXIII), 1080p CGI and 720p gameplay, that's the way we should all play it

$200 is still a lot to pay to own a copy of final fantasy with less discs. And it doesn't matter that I didn't ask the question, this is a forum. Why post in a forum if you don't want everyone to comment on what you say?

Word. Choice is a wonderful thing. Though if you have both consoles, is there really any choice when it comes to FFXIII?

Wow, a not-so-great game got the best treatment. That's so pathetic on so many levels.

At least FF13 doesn't have the blasphemous paper sleeve for disc 4. Stupid Mistwalker, paper is for AOL!

as for mystwalker's blue dragon and Lost Odyssey, I just bought a slim 4-dvd case for each of them, a great way to spend a buck...

Good of time as any to respond to this I guess. After finishing chapter 9 (or 10 hell if I remember) on my PS3 copy today I went and played a few hours on the 360 copy... Man no it totally isn't any sort of alpha textures (actually maybe the hair is idk all the technical stuff obviously) but going back to that is eye opening. The 360 version really does not look as sharp and some of the textures are just fucking terrible.

Of course if you are playing the 360 version only the game still looks great and you probably can't even tell but after playing the ps3 version so much the 360 one almost looks like an eye sore.

...interesting.  So the 360 version is on three seperate discs?  Well, at least everything is in full HD then, I bet if it was on a single disc, it would be compressed to no end.

@Aus_azn: But Mircosoft said games would never need that much space in games.
