Final Fantasy XV Episode Duscae's summon in action!
I'm not interested in FFXV but I love the idea of them recreating summons based on Amano's illustrations on such a scale.
I need to see this in context. I don't understand what just happened. Sure that was really cool but I hope summons aren't just a cinematic that plays when you are near death and press the a button.
@gamefreak9: In the context of the demo, that's exactly what it is. You don't get any exp or items from using it that way, but it seemed to have no cool down, and I was able to do it in every fight.
There is no way that is how it could work in the actual game, so I'm sure it's just a demo thing to look at and go "SO PRETTY!"
And fuck, it's super pretty!
@takayamasama: Actually as long as Behemoth rewards for killing him properly are ridiculous, in the context of the demo I would assume 10-20k XP is good enough I can actually say this is a very good thing. Good players are encouraged to not beat him cheaply with the summon but the boss fight can be be cheesed for people who aren't quite up to the challenge and will probably have to make up for it with extra farming later on. Checking out the his HP from the GB video it seems like a 30 minute fight.
@gamefreak9: After playing through the demo, I strongly feel the part we play will be drastically changed during the final product. I'm sure there will be some sort of "stalk a Behemoth" scene, cause that was pretty cool, but I highly doubt the resolution of it will be "go touch a random tree in some unexplained cave and oh look Ramuh"
Summons aren't just thrown at you willy nilly in current day Final Fantasy games, so I'm sure there will be a lot of exposition at the actual time and place you find Ramuh when the proper game comes out. I'd be very surprised if what we did in this demo is even slightly similar to what the actual game will make us do, at this point in the story.
A demo two years before the game releases? I don't care how good it is, that's pretty annoying.
Actually, I do care how good it is. The better it looks the more annoying that is. So right now FF XV is just really annoying to me. This much hype this far in advance wtf.
@killer2m8o: ? Two years before release? Where are you getting this from? I assumed the window was like a year.
No one uh... None of the other guys in the boy band gonna have a reaction to that happening? Maybe someone a few miles away might have something to say about seeing what looks like Zeus in the sky scarring the Earth with a great strike. Egads, I never thought Final Fantasy would be a game that had tread carefully around suspending disbelief.
Holy shit that was cool!! I want to play this game when it comes out just to see all the other summons.
Oh
My
God
These guys usually have stuff like that in the best possible visual quality. It truly looks amazing. Back in the PS1 days these summons were absolutely one (of many) aspects why I liked Final Fantasy games so much, they kinda lost their appeal over the years ... or so I though - because if that is how Ramuh of all things will look like, what about Ifrit? Shiva? Bahamut? O_o
Huh now I'm even more interested in this game. And I have never played a FF game in my life.
Also I think I'm finally starting to get annoyed by youtubers making a spiel about liking subbing and sharing. Maybe I just don't go on youtube enough.
Man, this is what I imagined the summons in Golden Sun looking like on console hardware. Suddenly, I'm more than a little hyped for this.
