I am very much anticipating this game. I checked it out on Steam and saw it was only $20 ($18 if you pre-order, I think), which is quite a steal. However, it got me thinking about the length of the game. The game world seems somewhat large with reason to return to locations in order to access previously-blocked areas, but given how story-driven it is has got me curious.

Anyone seen/read/heard anything about the length of the game?

I've been very curious about that as well, I'm super excited for the game, and 20 isn't bad, but it would be nice to know it has some length to it.

@ripelivejam If my math is correct, 1 Firewatch is the equivalent of 2 and a half Gone Homes.

I believe they said 5-6 hours for the average person, though most people will miss some things

Embargoes are up. Alex says 5 hours if you explore a lot. Kotaku says similar things. I am 100% OK with this.

Seems short, but honestly it's a pretty good length of game for me. If you can say want you want to say in 6 hours instead of 15, then by all means.

Great, I prefer shorter games since I'm able to finish them.

It personally took me 3-4 hours, and I did little to no exploring. I enjoyed it and think its worth getting.

I found everything in a little over three. (All thr cache boxes, notes, etc)

I beat it in just over 3 hours, with moderate amounts of exploring.

I really enjoyed the game, it's totally worth it!

I got about 4.5-5, but i got very lost at one point which padded my time a little.

3.3 hours with me going AFK for about 20 minutes, so lets just say 3 hours even.

I *think* I'm approaching the endgame and have gone off track majorly a couple of times meaning loads of backtracking. 3 hours according to Steam.

I completed it in 4.4 hours according to Steam.

Completed it in 3.8 hrs according to Steam. Perfect length.

Beat it in about 4.5 and I wasn't rushing. I really don't recommend it though... but I'm in the minority.

I think it would be 5 hours maximum. I must have been between 4 and 4 and 1/2.

i took about 5 hours but i felt like i spent a decent amount of time getting lost. still loved it.
