Overview
These segments typically follow a scene of intensity where the player character is under extreme stress (hail of gunfire, falling out of plane, punch to the face). As the character awakens, the camera is made intentionally blurry and hazy until the character becomes aware of their surroundings. For example, in the Call of Duty franchise the character usually awakens to someone pulling them back to their feet, at which point the world becomes clearer and the player can resume play.
