Anything worth playing?

Ok so I just got a phone capable of playing games, is there even anything worth playing on android? Everything I've tried so far is terrible, a couple of shooters, couple of hack n slash, that kind of thing.

Been looking for a decent puzzler or rpg or just anything to pass the time but looking into it all I see is a sea of s%&*!

Hitman Go is one of the best puzzler on there. Super Hexagon is the absolute best reflex-based game you can buy on a phone.

Random recommendations:

1. Threes
2. Monument Valley
3. Both Rayman games
4. Ridiculous Fishing

Desert Golfing. It's the perfect time waster since it takes almost no effort to jump in and play but still requires a degree of skill and judgement to play well.

Is that box game not on android?

How do you feel about tower defense games? If you're ok with that genre then the Kingdom Rush games are good recommendations. Crossy Road is also a decent short term diversion if you like Frogger.

and my newest favorite is Crossy Road

Monument Valley This is just a good experience, not hard or long but interesting

Marvel Contest of Champions a dumb game that I'm having fun with, the grind in the game gets brutal fairly quickly, I've been playing daily for a few weeks and I'm getting close to having my fill.

Injustice pretty much same thing, just with DC characters, more dumb fun with a much better paced loot grind, I've been putting 30 minutes into this for about 3 months and I'm still having fun with it.

Never thought to check the games they have talked about on bombcast! durp yes. Threes straight up, and Ridiculous Fishing I've wanted to check that since all the chat, ah good times! Can't say Crossy road appeals to me tho...wtf guys....heh ;)

PPSSPP + Danganronpa, Disgaea or Persona 3.

It even supports uprezzing. P3P works perfectly at 1080p on my Nexus 5.

Also Terra Battle is a good example of a free to play game that does not behave like a free to play game at all, plus the combat runs pretty deep, strategy-wise.

Alternatively, get an emulator and play a turn based strategy game like Fire Emblem.

Bard's Tale, Beat Hazard, Cook Serve Delicious, Game Dev Story (Or any Kairosoft game), Puzzle and Dragons, Punch Quest, Osmos HD, both Raymans, Super Stickman Golf 2, Super Hexagon, Waking Mars, Walking Dead Assault, World of Goo.

Those are just some of the games I have currently installed. There's probably been some other really cool games but I stopped paying attention to Android releases awhile ago.

Mickey Mouse Castle of Illusion. It made me believe you can play a platformer on a phone. It's pretty good.

My old PS1 JRPGs are seeing action again with ePSXe. It runs more reliably on my phone than my computer. Android seems to be the place for emulation these days. Gonna spend my phone time the next few months plowing through Xenogears and Final Fantasies VII-VIII-IX. The small screen (5.5" inch, so not exactly small small) makes them not look quite so terrible too. They don't really require any dexterous maneuvering either, so touch screen controls are OK and don't overlap the games because they're 4:3 and the phone is 16:9.

Also, this thread is connected to the android - like the humanoid robot - page, not the Google developed OS Android page.

Star Command isn't too bad.
