Best Practice for Handling Images (BoxArt)

I'm just wondering what the allowed/accepted/most appropriate way to use boxart from GiantBomb on another website. Is it:

1. Using the api to essentially hotlink to GiantBomb boxart on each page load/request

2. Using the api to download the specific image(s) on page load, save it to my server and link from there

3. Pre-download in bulk (within reason/sensible usage) using the api and save to my server, link from there
