Playnite is a free open source videogame library manager. Think GOG Galaxy 2, but it actually works and is kept up to date by both the main developer and the community.
I've made a Giant Bomb metadata provider plugin for Playnite using the API. It can fetch, per game: characters, concepts, locations, objects, people, and themes. These can then be assigned to game genres or tags, optionally with a prefix per entity type. It also makes use of the wiki text, release date, platforms, and images (for the cover and background images).
It also adds a button in the top panel that allows you to search for a character, concept, object, or person, and add a tag/genre/category for it to every game in your library that's associated with that entity in the Giant Bomb wiki.

PS it'd be great if there were a way to get every game associated with a location or theme via the API too!
