RSS feeds seem to show different video IDs than the API and the site

First, take a look at https://www.giantbomb.com/videos/feed/hd/3/, let's use Smash Brothers as an example. The link shows https://www.giantbomb.com/shows/super-smash-bros-ultimate/2970-18622/free-video, meaning the GUID is 2970-18622. However, the videos API shows this:

{

"name": "Quick Look: Super Smash Bros. Ultimate",

"api_detail_url": "https://www.giantbomb.com/api/video/2300-13795/",

"site_detail_url": "https://www.giantbomb.com/videos/super-smash-bros-ultimate/2300-13795/",

"id": 13795,

"guid": "2300-13795"

}

So I can no longer parse the RSS feed and then use its content to get video details.

Also the API used to work with just the video ID, but now it needs the full GUID (the 2970- prefix in my previous example), so that's a breaking change that probably should have been handled with a versioned API.

Did anyone solve this?

I’m having the same issue. I’ve just been going round and round in circles trying to figure out my I’m getting a URL format error and realised its only on videos with an ID starting 2970.

@tsigo: Sure, I will try to file a bug for this if it's still ongoing. I don't know much about RSS issues myself unfortunately.
