What features should I keep on QLCrew.com?

gotta be mobile support for me. the web player on giantbomb.com has gotten worse and worse on iOS, and it was a godsend that yours used, you know, the native video player.
This will be the hardest thing to pull off. It's likely that I won't be able to provide videos this way anymore due to changes in their policy. I'll try my best to keep it as I use it all the time.
EDIT: We might be good on this front.
First off, you should know I use qlcrew nearly every day. I think it's completly nuts it hasn't been officially integrated with the site. Such an amazing tool. Can't thank you enough duder!
Here's my hierarchy of wants:
- Video player with a playlist
- Chat archives
- Interactive timestamps
- Downloadable playlists
- Mobile support
@mikewhy: It doesn't have the same suite of filtering tools, but the GB Video Buddy is the best way to go for GB on iOS I would say. Maybe give it a shot if you haven't!
@geraltitude: @stealydan: Thanks! All those things should survive the transition, just not everything will work day one.
Top Men are on the case and directly in contact with me and other devs to make sure we get through this as smoothly as possible.
I use QLCrew all the time and it is great but the main things I use are to randomize video lists and to search for specific games in live shows. That being said, of the features above I prefer of those mentioned above are mobile support and maybe the timestamps. I would like a search function on the mobile version (I don't think there is one unless I'm just missing it).
Anyway, keep up the great work, it really is a useful thing you've made.
The chat archives are cool, but I used qlcrew a ton in the past before they were added, so I might not miss them that much.
The interactive timestamps are my n1. It's the best way for me to pinpoint GB content.
Thanks for everything you do duder!
@geraltitude oh yeah, Video Buddy rules
I also use it daily, really awesome thing you made. I usually use it before I sleep to find a random old quick look to watch. Picking two people in the video and scrolling through the pages till I find something good.
@dudeglove: Yes they had that. I remember the HTML5 support was fairly new at the time and there were always some issues with Chrome. Firefox didn't even support h.264 at all. I remember playlists for Endurance Runs.
Remember the video queue feature? But that wasn't great so whatever.
Chat archives would great! I'd love to see the chat react to many things in the past, like Johnny V tweeting Lang Zone's number lol
@hypnotoadbrwowrowrow: I mean, you can already do that. I will be making changes to the archives next week. It's definitely a feature I want to keep.
The chat archives are the main reason I visit QLcrew. Let's me catch up on the zeitgeist.
I agree. The chat archives are an amazing idea.
The time stamps is the only thing I use from that list. Great work duder.
Same! Otherwise I just love the basic functionality.
I would like an option to watch any random video between premium and non-premium.
This should be easy. I just need to figure out where to put the link. For now it's here.
I know the downloadable playlists are the least selected feature in the poll, so I understand that they are low priority, but they are literally my favourite feature of your site.
It won't be able to exist in it's current form. I hope to have a solution for this, but I will work on it after rewriting timestamps and chat archives. Unlike the other features, I have no idea how to do this one yet.
I absolutely love being able to see the chat archived alongside the video - I don't really ever watch the streams before they are archived, so being able to go back and see how chat reacted during a hilarious moment is pretty awesome.
@demoskinos: Yes, I've been archiving them for every livestream for months. They are available under Revisit the chat buttons.
Pretty bummed to see downloadable playlists so far behind everything else. That's the most important thing to me by a landslide. Having a playlist of every Quick Look is an awesome thing to fall asleep to, and I do it practically every night, updating the playlist every few days as needed. It's such a fantastic feature of the site and the number one reason I use it.
@cheebahh: It's already being tested on the new setup and needs only a few more tweaks.
@sansjason: I want to keep it and I will try to find a solution.
I feel like a loss of mobile/MP4 support would be a sad day. I do understand that a lot of people are looking for more archival items- but I enjoy having a easier to use mobile interface than stock Giant Bomb.
I think the chat archives is a really cool feature. Sometimes i'd want to see the chat reactions to specific jokes or something. I barely make it for the live events so the archives are my go to. You get the live experience even if you missed the event. Anyways, you do awesome work bud Cheers!
