Well, then I would say this movie is porn for girls. The guy never gets it on, but instead just spends all his energy trying for a relationship that will never be physical.
Or I should say opposite of porn for guys in which its all physical and no actual relationship.
I will say it again: Twilight is neither better nor worse than things like Gears of War or Call of Duty when it comes to cheaply fanservicing a particular audience.
The books, movies, advertising and fangirls of Twilight are awful. But to complain about / mock them when you're part of the video game industry? Laughable.

YAY! You called me part of the video game industry!
How could one not come to that conclusion? This is the second (that I know of) thread on giantbomb were videogamers make fun of a series of works that are poor on storytelling and very blatantly aimed at adolescents. Notice the irony? Males who bought and played Gears of War are in no position to make fun of females who bought and read Twilight.
Twilight is blamed here for including / neglecting certain elements in order to please a very narrow fanbase, becoming rather stupid and at times ridiculous for those outside of that fanbase, which is exactly the way you should describe 80% of high budget video games nowadays.
Now I like the ways of Gears, CoD & Co., and I despise the Twilight Franchise. But there's really no way to call one thing better than the other.

You've kinda got a point there. We might think it's awful, but we aren't the target audience. The majority of teen girls don't get ultra-violent video games and think they're awful... yet love Twilight.
