Don't get me wrong, Vinny and Brad are awesome, and i don't want them to go away or anything. But for some reason, i miss having just Jeff and Ryan, i remember one specific episode, where they talked about GTA 4 after drinking cinnabon energy drinks, and i don't know why. i think I'm losing my mind.
Anyone else kind of miss when it was just Ryan and Jeff
" @ArchScabby said:The jellyfish ate him." That kind of talk is dangerous son. "where the fuck is butterz "

It was enjoyable because it was two guys not sure what was going on. They were both unemployed at the time, unsure of their future, and there was a tone of sadness to the whole thing that pleased me. The "Dude, what are we going to do?!" tone has been replaced by a "Dude, what are we doing?! Oh well, we're employed" tone.
Yes. I liked those bombcasts too (or whatever they called them back then)
I HATE it when they have guests on (like the last one)
" nope vinny is leagues above the rest of those losers "???
little harsh dont you think
" @MAN_FLANNEL said:Last bombcast was trash. I want to hear the GUYS talk about games. The dude with no job talked over half the time about how he and the other dude were basically a gay couple living in an apartment." Yes. Yeah honestly I really like the dynamic they have going on with just the four of them. I think taking any one of them away makes it less of a podcast (I know just from listening to the episodes where [insert host] was absent for whatever reason)." Yes. And the guests generally detract from the show--most of the time they vie way too hard for attention. Last episode was a good example--"hey, yo, remember that one time when??? HAHA I know man, that inside joke that the audience doesn't have any context on is so funny! Let's laugh like drunks for a few minutes and throw everything off topic!"
Just pulling that quote from memory, it may not be exactly what they said...
I love the 4 of them, I dislike it when they have guests on the show and everybody is shouting all at once.

I think it's great now. I'm really hoping no one else is added. And if so, I hope they aren't a throw-over from Gamespot. Those guys over there are so damn uncomfortable in front of a camera.
I like the bombcast better with all 4 of them, and i thought the last cast was pretty effing funny. i think it happens in all media forms that people love the tried and true formula and when something shakes it up people dont like it, they just want the comfort of getting what they expect. i personally thought John V and Adam Boyes were great, it just wasn't a usual show, cause his stories were entertaining as long as you didn't already hate the fact that it wasn't a usual bombcast.
I LOVE giantbomb the way it is but those Ryan and Jeff only podcasts did have a certain appeal to them.

Flannel, like homophobia and beards, are all out of style.
I'm confused, if you are fine with how the bombcast is now, and all you really had to say was that you were thinking about the old ones, what is the purpose of this thread?
Cool? I'm glad you've got nostalgia? :S Sorry mate, not sure what to discuss.
i have all the bombcasts (obcessed much?) on my hardrive, and was listening to some early ones recently, including the very first "arrow pointing down" ones, and its MUCH MUCH MUCH better with brad and vinny. every time one of them isnt around it makes it worse too (some months ago there was a string of weeks where there was always 1 missing)
I like having the four of them do it together
The only guest that I really liked on the show was Paul Barnett. He is awesome in every way. I literally cannot finish last weeks Bombcast because the guests keep going on and on about personal stories and inside jokes that we will never understand because we weren't there.
I like the foursome. I do however hate guest episodes.
I always listen to the guest episodes, I just much prefer the foursome talking about games.
Brad and vinny bring something that jeff and ryan don't, nothing against them.
I just mean that I feel that ryan and jeff allways tend to agree more often about things. Whereas brad and vinny have there own particular opinions about things.
Vinny seems more open to exploring things that come under the description banner of 'different'.
And Brad tends to like having a longer think about things. But when he does say something it's usually a very good, valid point.
