Diet Coke vs Coke Zero

It's my understanding that Diet Coke is basically a low calorie version of New Coke.

Sodas are weird sometimes (All the time).

Coke Zero because it's more edgy.

I was just reading up on Coke Zero earlier (real busy day), and apparently it's marketed towards young men. The idea is that younger guys perceive diet coke to be a feminine product so they had to re brand Coke Zero as a bevarage for people with tesiticles. A lot of soda companies do this (see dr pepper 10). A usual trope is that it is marketed as tasting exactly like the non diet version.

Coca Cola is the worst, and Coke Zero tastes more like Coca Cola than Diet Coke, therefore Coke Zero is more the worst. Diet Coke wins.

Coke Zero is totally ok, but if I'm drinking Coke I'm probably drinking the real stuff.

I think they both taste terrible but if I had to choose I'd go Coke Zero, solely because it has a cooler name.

Diet Coke but I drink both interchangeably.

I've come to like coke zero a lot. much less aspertainy but still not too sweet like regular cola's

@trilogy: Makes a lot of sense really, well from a marketing perspective, diet is the white or silver cans, and yeah generally you don't hear about young men on diets other than for serious health issues. So bring in the black can, make it a bit of a stronger taste and lose the diet name.

Frankly I do still miss my Jolt Cola from my youth, that shit made my teeth buzz.

Diet Coke for me. I dont really like the taste of regular or Coke Zero.

Coke Zero has a good taste to it. Diet Coke, not so much.

I think that the difference is in the food acids and caffeine content.

zero - Food Acid 330 and less caffeine than diet.

diet - Food Acid 331 and more caffeine than zero.

Zero is diet coke.... for man.

Also, at last check, Pepsi was #2 in the US, but things change.

I will never understand people who think they taste even remotely similar. Coke Zero tastes a lot more like actual Coke. Diet Coke might as well not even be Coke with how different it tastes.

Coke Zero, it tastes closer to Coke. Diet Coke is too sweet, unless you get used to it.

Never understood this, if you're going to drink coke, just drink normal coke, every version is just as bad for you, and if you care about your health to drink a diet coke, you're doing the healthy thing wrong.

Fuck any kind of diet pop. I only drink regular ass Coke/Pepsi/etc.

Diet Pepsi

If I can't have Diet Pepsi then I have Coke Zero. Diet Coke is nasty so to answer the question Coke Zero all the way (remember when it used to be red cans with black writing rather than black cans with red writing?).

I don't like regular Pepsi at all but Diet Pepsi is the second best cola product. Regular Coca Cola is the best but that has too many calories for my slow metabolism to handle.

Never understood why soft drinks are glorified on this website so much. It's just sugar sugar sugar, and in the case of crap like Diet Coke it's artificial sweeteners. If you want to increase your chances of getting cancer or diabetes sure go ahead and drink coke and crap throughout your week. Also, enjoy having yellow smelly teeth, wooo, soft drinks are just so cool.

They're virtually identical. They are slightly different, I'm sure, but the difference is so slight it's not worth debating about. The primary difference between the products are the marketing, not the products themselves.

Diet. Always. I dislike the mouth-feel (ze mous feel) of non-diet colas.

Got a water cooler at home and have been drinking water almost exclusively for a month or so now. I don't really miss sodas.

Diet coke tastes like chemicals. I don't know how anybody can drink it, it doesn't taste anything like the original. Coke Zero is far superior.

Coke made with sugar (get that HFCS out of here) in glass bottles is the only way to go (and, since it's hard to come by and a lot more expensive I drink less of it, which isn't a bad thing)...

Coke Zero

Not being an elitist, just reminding people that soda is nothing but filth (just look at the amount of sugar per 100 ml of that stuff), and for your body and mind you are much better off drinking some water with the right minerals, you will not only be rehydrated and refreshed, but you will be happier and healthier in the long run.

Look, if you're going to drink a sugary not good for you soft drink just fucking to for the gusto man and get the regular all of these "diet" and "zero" drinks are bullshit.

I think it's more inaccurate than offensive. Both Coke and Pepsi are from US states that succeeded from the union (Georgia and North Carolina respectively).

Natural always beats chemical shit. None of that shit is technically 'natural' but if you need to feed yourself that stuff, then go natural.

Whilst this could be a load of shit, Mexican coke uses natural sugar cane and not corn syrup, so I guess go with that if you can get it.

Either way, water is pretty good, and seeing as it makes up a huge proportion of your biological composition seems the go to for hydration.

I rarely drink either (tend to favour Sprite/7up instead), but I do prefer Diet Coke to the regular stuff. Conversely, I'd take Pepsi Max over the other Pepsi variants. No real logic to any of it.
