Sorry Dave but nah
Do you think Dave should become permanent 5th chair?
five is still small and manageable, while still adding enough variety, especially since Dave seems more PC inclined then the other 4 combined. I know i can't be alone in that, I love the GB, but I am more of PC gamer so having Dave involved as often as possible seems a great addition.
No, but only because we need him to help keep the site awesome. I think a lot of people forget he's part of the engineering team that makes the Whiskey Media juggernaut keep on a steaming.

Five people might be too much. I guess Brad doesn't say a lot so it might be ok though. It would be awesome to have a PC-centric guy on the podcast on a regular basis though. Also, Dave is fucking awesome. I voted "no" in the poll, but after reading your post I kinda wish I could go back and change my vote. Whoops!
No. He doesn't play enough to add much to the conversations, which makes sense because he isn't a video game journalist. I also don't think the podcast needs time devoted to low budget Russian games and derivative RTS's. Sorry, but what he is interested in isn't what 90% of the listeners are interested in.
Also 5 people is too many.
5 is too many. I like him more than Brad, if you want to perceive this as a "troll" you're implying Dave is inferior to Brad. I'd just insert your foot and save time. The staff is big enough that they could have 2 podcasts a week. Imagine a shorter podcast on Monday with Dave, Drew, and a random 3rd and 4th chair (probably Vinny and someone from another Wiskey site). That could be a fun time.
Dave is an engineer...he keeps this and other WM sites running. I don't think he would have enough time to play the same amount of games as jeff, brad, ryan and vinny.
" Dave is an engineer...he keeps this and other WM sites running. I don't think he would have enough time to play the same amount of games as jeff, brad, ryan and vinny. "Really consider how many games each individual person talks about playing per week. Dave keeps up just fine. Jeff, Brad, Ryan and Vinny feel like talking about 1 or 2 games per person a week because that's all that made an impression, and Dave plays about that many a week because he only plays what he wants to play.
Considering that Dave is the only staff member of Giant Bomb with game tastes that even barely resemble mine, hell yes I would like to have him more often on the podcast. But it's not going to happen.
Yes. I also perked up when I heard that Disciples 3 came out this week. I'm one of those people.
If he occasionally wants to join the podcast then I'm cool with it, I like guests on the podcast. Unfortunately the table is square shaped so 4 chairs seems to be the limit and the podcast room didn't look big enough.
yes, of course he's an engineer. but i'm sure a simple 3 hours out of the week can be assigned to somebody else...
I think they should just have a different dude rotating in and out of the fourth chair from week to week. I don't dislike Brad as many here seem to, but his perennial lack of enthusiasm can get annoying sometimes.
It would be awesome if he did. I like how Dave has a different perspective on gaming from the rest of the crew. I love the main guys but they all seem to like the same types of games. Dave throws out some curveballs.
I love my Shoecrafter, but sometimes it sounds like he's drifting into a coma. I think Brad would be more playful if they just started forcefeeding him Brondo or what have you. Or they started doing the podcasts around 3:30 AM, during Brad's peak energy level.
" five is still small and manageable"I don't think so, not with the amount off "cross-talking" and "over-another-talking" that is already going on. Ryan can handle it, but with five people, I don't know …
Dave should have his own weekly podcast where he discusses the trials and tribulations of being Dave with the only other person who can possibly hope to understand how hard it is to be Dave.
Dave.
I mean, these are the pressing questions. What's it like to be Dave? How can I apply more Daveness to my own lifestyle? Does Dave sometimes regret not being able to live as a mortal? What kind of hair products does Dave use?
I'm telling you, instant hit.
