That shot of upstairs looks like a crime scene.
I can't wait for them to have a professional shooting space this year. I think we can all agree that they've earnt it.
I have never seen a room more appropriate for murdering someone. Looking forward to seeing the studio they have this year, sounds like a nice professional place for some semiprofessional shenanigans.

Let's not fool ourselves. There will be no resemblance of professionalism in the shenanigans that occur during their E3 streams, and I for one wouldn't have it any other way.

so are the podcasts the unprofessional E3?

Who is sitting in that chair in the dungeon? He is freaking me out
Tested.com's Joey.
Also: I suspect this year's diggs will be (/ at least look) very professional.
are there any pictures of the skateboard stairs place?
this actually is the skateboard stairs place- if you look at the left edge of the 2nd and 3rd pics, you can just make out some boards.
Oh man I remember that! I was surprised that nothing insane happened to them when they were down there because it looked soo shady and I even remember them having some weird encounters with random people passing by.
The image of Ryan sitting down totally depressed and defeated with his head down and coffee between his leg, made the whole story a lot better. Also, what kind of crazy shit has Ryan seen about this place (last E3 murder room) that he had to burden alone? Did he walk in during a gay orgy? some snuff film action? WHO KNOWS.
Also I hope this new pro shooting place they got is off the chains.
My favorite part of last year is that they had random ass people just wandering in. Like, who does that?
I don't know man, but that was the first thing I thought when I saw the open door with the full glass front. This is downtown LA we're talking about, drunkards would be drawn to the light inside like mosquitoes to a flame.

Intoxicated people
There are more photos available via Norman Chan's Twitter account.
That doesn't look that bad. Not as if they were sleeping there. It was unfurnished and I would not have gone near those stairs but otherwise. Isn't downtown LA basically empty store fronts and hotels.
I bet this year is nicer but they said it is further out - so they might have more trouble snagging decent guests.
No Jeff Green this year I bet Adam Boyes isn't allowed on by his overlord bosses.
When was this said?
I always envisioned a house in the ghetto, not this weird storefront thing.
Yeah, me too. Looking at the first pic confused me for a second.
The random ass people showing up at the door makes more sense now; I probably would've done the same.
@indiana_jenkins: Thanks man, I was looking for those, that "living room" shot. . . I wonder what day of the week they rent it out for fight club?
I'm sure this new place will be awesome but, when they started talking about getting the student house I got slightly nostalgic. The E3 '11 streams were the first exposure I ever had to GB. It would have been cool to see them back there.
yeah- i mean, all judgement withheld until it's said and done, but i feel like the more buttoned-up the production gets, the less likely we're going to get that great off-the-cuff-oh-shit-did-i-just-say-that vibe. creative endeavors are almost always better when you're broke and have something to prove.
@mellotronrules: It's funny, I even took a line out of my post about the student house having a more laid back, casual vibe than last years (and I suspect this year's) place. I thought I was maybe a little crazy for thinking that. Like you, I'm not judging anything yet. I've little doubt the guys will make the streams fun as hell to watch.
Shame about Jeff Green not being there.

I'm fairly sure that last picture is the last seconds of that person's life.
When was this said?
he tweeted that he isn't going to E3 this year.
Never actually saw the pics that were of the front of this place. I would have been pretty skeptical if they told me to meet them there.

More money and more resources does mean better quality video and audio. Giant Bomb's always managed to walk the line being "professionally unprofessional". And the Bomb Squad's paid their dues enough. They've at least earned a place to do their E3 coverage that's at least sanitary. Or at least air-conditioned so Patrick doesn't have to camp out by the front door with a baseball bat to discourage drunks.
Calling that upstairs room a Rape Room is an understatement.
I'd like to reiterate Ryan's quote from this week's podcast in regards to that room: "That room was billed to me as a place where someone could stay." As in sleep. Overnight. On the mattress. O___O
Funny though, you sometimes can't tell when an apartment or event room/building will be something along the lines of a glorified actual drug den. A couple years ago I was in the market for an apartment. There was one advertised at a very reasonable rent in a nice area close to where I work. No pictures though. So I thought, well, this is a pretty nice neighbourhood it's located in so... how bad could it be? It turned out to be quite bad. Equally bad as 2012 E3 place. Potentially worse. Bare drywall. With holes in the bare drywall. Wall to wall linoleum that looked like it had been installed in the 60's and never once cleaned in the forty or fifty years since. Black mold on all caulk lines around the shower/tub. I was shocked. The appearance and smell of this place changed my whole worldview. I'll never be the same again. T__T

Sure, as long as that "someone" is a person you kidnapped and wish to keep against their will as a sex slave.

True both! Can't wait for the stupidity to ensue!
