Giant Bombcast Intro Music History (Video)

Hey everyone, thought you might like this video I put together of the various Giant Bombcast intro theme songs all the way from the Arrow Pointing Down Podcast...

Personally I miss the Arrow Pointing Down theme song.

Which is your favourite?

I was able to figure out when I started listening to the Bombcast using this. The Christmas one was my first.

Oh man, crazy. I was around Gamespot the time the whole shit went down and never caught Arrow Pointing Down... cool theme song. The best one is the "Christmas 09" one... great memories from that GOTY discussion.

@MaddenedMan: Cool video and all... But I think you forgot the season 3 theme.

Pretty weird how nostalgic the E3 theme feels, especially when combined with the submarine video from last year. The best part of E3 and their best podcasts so far in my opinion.

I do enjoy all the themes, but season 2 will always be my favourite. Also, totally forgot what APD theme sounded like, so thanks for that.

well done, but what about the live version and the 8bit version?

@FlemmingM: Was Season 3 the one I labelled as "EVE Online Edition" (3:10)? I think that was just the first episode that used that music.

I enjoy the 2nd song the best. None of the others have topped it for me.

Christmas and E3 are really good but I think season 2 is still my favorite. Can't believe the bombcast has been around for nearly 4 years now.

i think the newest one is probably my favourite, gets me pumped for the show, APD is pretty badass too, i actually went back and listened to them recently,

Cool vid. The 8/12/2008 is my personal favorite from that selection. Was recently listening to some older podcasts (early-mid 2010) and that theme music isn't included here. The one with what sounds like trumpets blasting at the end or something.

Christmas one is my favorite, I'm a sucker for violin covers.

This video needs more of the VidRhythm version from BLLSL2:TTWDIL.

I find the first Japan cast oddly appealing.

2008-08-12 version or the Christmas one (can only be used around Christmas time) I always loved. But yes, the arrow pointing down podcast was awesome... it was pretty midnight brown sounding. Plus I loved when they would describe themselves laying on ryans living room floor and then what I pictured (laying in a pile of mcgriddle wrappers and gatorade bottles) just riffing about games and home food delivery services, lol.

I really enjoyed that.

gotta love the classics. Arrow pointing down was the best. Filled the void in my soul of not hearing jeff gerstmann talk about video games on a regular basis after his departure from gamespot.

Is season 2 the one with the rainbow image? Because if so, that's the best theme.

I'm biased as all hell (i have a passion for hip hop) but the Tokyo Game Show music is my favorite sounding one.

But the classic Giant Bomb theme will always be the Season 2 stuff for me.

I still totally miss the Season 3 opener. You guys just must not like swank like I do, as it seemed like everyone reviled the 70's Cop Show edition. I love Christmas opener too, though.

It would've been fine but the mixing on it was total shit. Having to turn my sound wayyyyyyyy down just for the intro was a pain in the ass.

I hate the current one, but my favorite was the one before current. It is my ringtone, and people always compliment my musical taste! I also run into strangers recognizing my ringer, lol.

@Chop: See, I didn't mind that, though part of it was because I was heavily listening at the start during the 2010 November/December period. That was when everybody was yelling about how disappointing Fable III was.

I think the E3 day zero one is BADASS!! but yeah definitely the season 2 one :') brings back so many happy memories and i can't believe that i've been listening to this for 3 years now... :D
