Leigh Alexander apologizes on her blog for behavior on Bombcast.

I think this is kind of weird, she wasn't very self-aware on the podcast and she apologized on her blog for being drunk and loud. I didn't really mind her myself and I kind of feel bad for her.

Do you guys think her being intoxicated at a podcast was acceptable? I still haven't heard the podcast yet, but if she was drunk it really makes her like a disrespectful guest. This is coming from a guy who is never invited anywhere. >_<

I didn't mind her that much, minus the discussion about MGS. My God, she came off as such a snooty bitch (not calling her a bitch in general) during that.  I think my jaw dropped on that part, it was so ridiculous.  'No one has ever written about all these parallels he's drawing except for me, and I don't even write about it!'  If that's not a head scratcher, I don't know what is.

She was just really loud.

I'd still like to say this is one of my favorite podcasts since you can totally tell everyone is like, "jesus we know the gaming industry" when she's talking.

Also the burn on the GRIN guy was amazing.

OK, so the bombcast was pretty much a write-off (imo), but some of you guys could try and have a little class.  She screwed up, she's apologised and I'm sure she'll apologise to the Capcom guy.  If she was being all 'sassy gamer chick' about it, then your righteous fury might be justified, but she totally isn't. 

If Capcom acted how you are suggesting, they would be no better than Eidos over the Jeff/K&L thing.  You can't have it both ways.

I agree with things she said; she made good points on the podcast.

She was fine and no apology was needed. She even said she was flaming a little bit.

I'm not going to listen to it, sounds like she was being a real douche though.

Some of ya'll need to grow up. It's fine to voice your opinion and such, but don't start taking personal stabs at the person or begin name-calling. Provide your criticism and move on.

Holy shit she is a disaster of humanity. Things must be really bad at Gamasutra if this is the caliber of person that they hire.  I'm in disbelief that she has a job in this industry. The bar must be set really low for female game journalists if this girl can get a job.

I think that Leigh Alexander was definitely the most interesting thing about that podcast.  Some of the points she made would have been better if she was guesting on Idle Thumbs (which is also great) but either way the majority of the hatred directed toward her on the comments board is rather pathetic.

I actually didnt think it was that bad the first time I heard the podcast, but when even her apologized, i went back and listened to it, and it was pretty bad indeed. the kojima / mgs4 thing especially had a HUGE forum-posting-blind-fanboy rant vibe. With that said, its a podcast, a videogame podcast in fact, in a site known for above all else, having fun. so chill the fuck out with the personal attacks on the chick

and for the people that go "OMG HOW CAN A JOURNALIST ACT THIS WAY"... this isnt CNN, its videogames. I can make a website, write about games, and that doesnt make me a journalist. Im not dissing the guys (NEVER!) or anyone in this profession, hell, its my dream job to be fucking honest, but this reminds me of the other day with the dude accusing jeff of being biased against sony and how can a professional act that way... its like, dude...they play video games and then tell you what they thought. they arent in wars reporting from the front lines.

Wow, some of you are real dicks. Maybe she did talk a little too much but it was her first podcast and she was likely nervous, and she did have some valid points. Seriously, personal attacks on her and saying she should be fired? Stop playing the podcast, take a step away from your computer, count to ten, and breathe. You shouldn't be listening to something supposed to be entertaining if you're that emotionally unstable.

At first I said they should NEVER have her back on again, but I take that back. I think they should have her on again without a mic, and just berate her for 2 hours.  Then she could begin to understand how we felt.

• Calls Bioware losers, when she is an anime nerd, a blind rabid MGS fangirl, who spent years of her life organizing virtual world conferences.
• Demands romance in Resident Evil from Capcom developer.
• Spends an hour explaining why Second Life is not the future of the internet.
• Without irony claims Nazi uniforms are sexy, especially on anime characters? Disgusting.
• Spends another hour explaining without irony and in great specificity why Hideo Kojima is the most underappreciated genius in the game industry (possibly in the world).
