Jeff keeps saying this on the Bombcast (and everyone tells him he says it too much, and has exceeded his daily allotment for use of the term) and I have no idea what it means or how it's spelled. Could someone clue me in?

So I'm not the only one who had that T.I. song come to mind with this.
It's definitely 'murked' or 'merked'. Certainly no 'C', it has nothing to do with mercenaries. It became pretty popular amongst the rudeboys here in london a few years ago. Some uses adapt it to 'murkle', 'murkle durkle', 'murkage'. It's used in a similar way to 'boyd' and 'boyage', a slang term I haven't heard used by Americans, but which has a similar meaning of being humiliated, although less through violence or physical competition, as 'murked' implies, and more through insult or intellectual contest.
It's Murked, and it's at least as old as Gotta Make It to Heaven (2001) by FIFTEH!:

I usually hear Londoners say it, typically black youth, and I consider murked to mean stabbed to death
