Jeff keeps saying this on the Bombcast  (and everyone tells him he says it too much, and has exceeded his daily allotment for use of the term) and I have no idea what it means or how it's spelled. Could someone clue me in?

It's a term black people use for beating someone physically.
You finna get hurt, murked, put 'em in the dirt. Boy you betta catch me first.
And it is indeed murked.

I was under the impression that it was merced, as in mercenary.

So I'm not the only one who had that T.I. song come to mind with this.

Like other posters said it can be used in past tense also. I always associate the word murk or murked with murder.

"merced" means getting killed by mercenaries, although now it probably means just getting killed in general.

I'd go for Murked. A euphemism used to refer to beating someone up.
"I'm gonna murk you boy"
"That nigga got murked"

Usually used by Black Youths originating in London but I think it has now spread all over the English speaking world.

Merced. I think it has something to do with merc being the short form for mercenary, but I'm not sure.

Chavs seem to use the term a lot, which makes it pretty funny to hear Jeff say it, at least to me.

It's definitely 'murked' or 'merked'. Certainly no 'C', it has nothing to do with mercenaries. It became pretty popular amongst the rudeboys here in london a few years ago. Some uses adapt it to 'murkle', 'murkle durkle', 'murkage'. It's used in a similar way to 'boyd' and 'boyage', a slang term I haven't heard used by Americans, but which has a similar meaning of being humiliated, although less through violence or physical competition, as 'murked' implies, and more through insult or intellectual contest.

It's Murked, and it's at least as old as Gotta Make It to Heaven (2001) by FIFTEH!:

Some say I'm paranoid I say I'm careful how I choose my friends
Been to ICU once I ain't going again
First Zee got murked, then Roy got murked
An homies still in the hood, why he ain't getting hurt

I usually hear Londoners say it, typically black youth, and I consider murked to mean stabbed to death
