This ones great but might have a better chance if it looked more like the actual logo with the crazy eyes and lit fuse. still an awesome job though. well done.

I ended up making four after trying to make one just for fun. Might as well post them.

EDIT: Ended up adding a thin border around them.

I think this captures Jeff's Jeff-ness really well. I am somehow sure that he is not wearing pants in this illustration and that his expression has something to do with the tie.

I actually find this one to be kinda neat and endearing. Plus I immediately recognized everybody!

Whatever happened to that amazing painting that a user sent in at the end of last year. The movie poster type one one with Patrick in the background? That would be a great image to use.

As an artist, the star on the fuse lining up with the center of Ryan's eyepatch is driving me nuts! It's fighting with whether or not it wants to be a star on the patch, or a lit fuse. The more appealing suggestions would be to make it the "O" in Bomb like the logo, or if you want to avoid doing that, maybe make the whole bomb an image on the eyepatch. It'll just feel nicer on the eyes.

But that's my two cents,everything else looks great!

@winternet: Thanks. Yeah I was unsure what to do with the bomb. Right now it's just jacked from the bomb's on the Kaboom! boxart. Those were much smaller though, so they worked more. I tried the face from the logo but doesn't quite work with the abstract quality of Activision boxes.

If anyone's got any ideas to perk it up, let me know. :)

I got an idea - wallpaper size, motherfucker, this is awesome.

@millerwakka: Like this one a lot. The black behind the tears looks kind of weird, but if it's for iTunes, will likely blend in better in the backdrop.

For the bomb, I'd suggest using a slightly lighter black/grey, so that texture can come through on it. Also, maybe add a stroke around the edges of the text? They're the only thing in the image without an outline, so it stands out.

I mean, no, don't change anything. Let me win, damnit.

@conmused: Haha, thanks for the advice. I think that'll work with the bomb. Not sure about the text though. I mean, I agree with you, but on the original Activision boxes I'm apeing they didn't outline them. So it'd look better, but it'd be non-canonical or something!

I personally think your entry is way better anyway. XD

I do think you should add the star on the fuse though. Other than that, it's awesome.

I added the bow, because of course this is the year of it. And yes, Brad is pulling the full Allard there.

It is definitely down to these three so far. I really love the flat, matt colours and texture on these, especially conmused and millerwakka. They also don't have 'Giant Bomb' or the official logo on them, which I consider a plus. I disagree with those who say they should make it look like the logo, the eyes are really stupid and conmused bomb looks hell of a lot better (and way less cluttered) than the actual logo. If anything they should change the logo. I like that Millers' doesn't have the crew featured or named since when, you know, Brad leaves they would need new artwork otherwise.
