These awards mean very little and are there mostly for the delicious podcasts sake. It's a little wierd to only include games that they liked regardless of category, but that's their way of doing it, and it's their awards :)
never understood god of war, i played all of em and they all just feel button mashy. Maybe it's just that style of game anyway. I mean it looks great, but not my cup of tea gameplay wise.

When they say "best looking," it wasn't about choosing the best graphics per se; they're definitely talking about art style. While I won't deny its polish, GOW3, at least my view, was another exercise in "OMG blood, gore, destruction, hells yeah" which doesn't appeal to some people.
God of War matters a lot, prolly the best PS3 exclusive this year imho. It sold a few million copies if I recall... You just don't hear about it from Giantbomb since they are not a fan. Same reason they dismiss discussion on Devil May Cry, or why they seem to talk about Mortal Kombat and Starcraft 2 so much... It's there personal taste.
Personally I'd say God of War 3 was the best game this year, both graphically and overall... but again person taste. It's only 4 guys so they don't like everything. I think the podcasts are more about just having fun, I mean what other site would talk about deadly premonition or something... don't take it so seriously guys! It doesn' matter one bit, if you think it's the best looking game then it is... why do you need approval from media

Because they thought the other games looked better? If everyone had the same opinion on every game, there would be 1 video game site.
