Without clarification, I attended E3 in 2005... I know it's even bigger now, but it is an absolute circus. By the afternoon of Day 3, I was in pain with every step and my ears were ringing for days after I boarded my flight home. It was glorious... but it was also the most tiring week of my life. Even though I was a night owl, I was ready for bed pretty early all week long. It was the only way to function each day through the madness. Then the airline lost my luggage for another five days upon arriving home, but I digress...
Most of the gaming sites have done a nice job keeping the public updated during their "Super Bowl" week, where they can barely even enjoy anything because of how much pressure is on them to rip out massive content. Virtually nobody gave us a daily Podcast, and those that did, aren't the best... with the exception of the Bombcast. I discovered GB last year when I heard Brad on a podcast with Garnett Lee on 1-Up... where Infamous was being discussed and where Brad sang the praises of Art Style: Pictobits. It is now my favorite gaming site... and one of my two favorite podcasts, along with Weekend Confirmed, at which Garnett has spoken about GB's and the Cast's brilliance on several occasions. I love this place. I love the discussion, I love the professionalism, the look, the quests, the community, all of it. I am a certified GB junkie at this point. It spurred me to go back into my own entertainment writing career, which I almost dropped altogether in 2009.
For these guys to bust it all day long in Los Angeles and then come back to their rental place and knock out not just a podcast, but a live video stream... every single night of E3... deserves a standing ovation. While there were some moments that were better than others (which will remain nameless), the discussion was almost always extremely informative and thought-provoking. I simply wanted to take a moment to thank all those involved for GB's E3 coverage and to give a special set of kudos to Jeff, Ryan, Brad, and Vinny (and guests and staff)... for giving us a nightly sendoff to each day of "The Electronic Three." Well done gentlemen... get yourselves some rest and be safe on the way home this weekend.
Thanks to the GB Crew for Going Above and Beyond
agreed. GB are killin' it with their coverage, and it's the only coverage i want from E3.
they can do no WRONG!
This is the only site I checked for my entire first E3 of actually paying attention (other than ign/gamespot for press conference streams) and I'd say I got some good info from it. Good job guys.
Seriously. Conventions look fun to watch but are absolutely F*CKING TIRING to be in all day let alone three straight. I can't fathom how they were able to do live video stream at night. After the exaust that is E3, my live stream would be wanking off under a coffee table and passing out over a bowl of goldfish crackers.
Thank you GB crew, for every minute of coverage.
Tons of content, Giantbomb was my main site for E3 2010 and I don't regret it. great job with the games covered along with the podcast.
Yes, thanks to the giantbomb, just registred to thank them for the videocast!
Last year e3 was really cool to follow too with the podcast !
The videocast was really cool to follow, im not from USA so its really cool to see gaming from another point of view. And its was really funny to watch !
I hope they are going to be there next year in videocast ;p
Thanks !
" agreed. GB are killin' it with their coverage, and it's the only coverage i want from E3. they can do no WRONG! "Yeah, other than here and of course, GAF, I didn't really need any other sites for my E3 information. They live blogged the press conferences, had all of the major and even smaller games covered. And on top of that, had a podcast daily recapping the days big events.
Giantbomb rocks!
Nice job guys! I came back here a lot on the E3 (and won't stop now ofcourse! ^_^ )
I have to say I'm very thankful for what you guys have done over these past few days. You guys ROCK!
I gotta say, the Giantbomb crew were amazing this year, they went above and beyond with their coverage and they should be applauded for it.
thanks guys, you were fantastic!!
