Seeing as how TNT and the E3 party has let Giant Bomb, and by that I mean Drew, cut their teeth on setting up live streams, what are the chances of video Bombcasts on a regular basis? Watching the live events made it clear exactly how much gets lost in an audio-only format. All we have is the sound of Ryan trying Swedish candy, not a full exploitable Jpeg of him buggin' the fuck out. If we didn't have video, we wouldn't know about Giant Bomb Sims Gang signs, or Jeff's wheelchair. Or random cuts to a silent Drew looking like some sort of mastermind controlling everything.
Even if it's not a live stream (in order to preserve the illusion of Tuesday recorded Bombcasts), what is the possibility of video casts? I think it's worth it, but from the tweets and amount of cords everywhere around, it looks like it's kind of a pain in the ass.
Video stream in future Bombcasts?
Keep the video podcast for special thing ! E3 was a blast to follow on the giantbomb with the video podcast !
Keep it for videogame show, e3, gamescom, tokyo gameshow, if you can !
I prefere to have something special like those e3 video cast!
A regular videocast would loose its magic !
AND im looking forward to next year with the same crews, and yeah with leigh alexander too !
thanks to the giantbomb crews !!!
" Mehhhhh I like the current format, save live streams for special events like TNT and the trade shows. I rarely have the time to watch the live stream when its up, listening to the audio version or the archived version is never the same. "Why not have both though? The live stream and also the archived video or audio for those that want to catch it later? I'm not suggesting changing the show in anyway just switch the live stream on while they're recording the bombcast. How is it never the same, not following you there.
I think they should stick to their current Bombcast format except stream it live, and maybe allow for some questions as they talk about news and specific games. They could even go a step further if they wanted and release it as a video podcast, although that could create the expectation that the video has stuff that you wouldn't get in the audio version.
Ultimately any video version should only be for the people that want it, we shouldn't have to watch it because we don't understand the joke about the "Sims gang sign".
