Why are they using the old version of the opening?

The old theme is great!

Jeff always used to use the old theme tune when he was hosting the bombcast, probably just has it to hand. To be fair, im just happy to hear them talking about stuff, not really bothered which intro music they use.

Season 2 was awesome!

For some reason I get the impression that Ryan was the only one who cared about switching up the opening theme. Could be because he was the only one who ever heard it having to edit all the podcasts. Or maybe this one is just Jeff's favourite?

I'm not bothered by it, in any event. Season 3 Cop Show Theme was the best.

Exactly! That's 30 seconds Jeff could be spendinf doing something more valuable! Like playing Animal Crossing or talking to a sexy lady.

How much jeff talks about audio editing, im pretty sure he knows how to get the file, perhaps he is doing it out of respect for Ryan.

I like hearing the old theme, it brings back good memories. It's not quite as smashed into my brain as Too Hot, but it's close.

I like the old theme, brings back memories of fun times and shenanigans that I may have forgotten.
Also, brings back sad memories of them not taking up Machinae Supremacy on their offer of making the Giant Bomb theme :(

Jeff explained someplace before Ryan passed away, possibly on Tumblr, that he doesn't have the audio file for the new theme on his podcasting computer.

I'm pretty sure that if he asks, @wafflestomp can send Jeff all the original music for the bombcast, but that depends on if Jeff wants to use the music on the bombcast or not...

Look, this can very quickly devolve into the entire cast with nothing but Number Stations, squirrel music, and music from the Wii EShop, let's just be happy that Jeff wants to include any music at all.

God, lets pray that it does. 5 hour number station podcast go!

Jeff uses one of my favorite renditions of the theme, so I'm not worried about it. I enjoy it.

Because if going to a website called Giant Bomb wasn't getting the NSA's attention, having a show about numbers stations/chemtrails/whatever in my internet history definitely will. I GOT NUTHIN TO HIDE, G-MAN.

Old theme is better anyway

There is one truth everyone should know:

The original theme is the best. So much funk.

I love the old theme, so it certainly doesn't bother me. So funky.

I love and welcome the old themes, though it is a stark reminder of ryan's passing. You always knew when ryan was out that week by the intro music being different.

I love the old music, so I don't mind.

I would assume Jeff still doesn't have the newest one since Ryan was the one who usually handled the podcast.

I prefer the original, although there has been some good remixes.

Nothing beats the original. Funky as hell.
