Kodi not playing videos any more

Hey :) I'd really appreciate help on this. The giant bomb addon in Kodi (via OSMC on raspberry pi) stopped playing videos. Most of the time nothing happens after selecting a video, but sometimes a message pops up saying "One or more videos failed to play, check the log for more details."

Well here is the log. Could somebody please tell me what I'm doing wrong?

I checked the solutions here and it looks like the api url in my plugin is correct. In fact, this was happening with the OG Whiskey Media version of the addon, and then I upgraded to jimporter's one from github - but the same issue is happening. I tried a restart, tried uninstalling & reinstalling, and I unlinked & relinked my account with the plugin.

I hope it's just something simple I missed!

Yeah the kodi addon is broken atm. :(

I found a workaround. If you change the video quality setting from HD to high, all videos I tested seem to work fine.

(Also you should edit out your API Key from your log file dump in your post)

Thanks for the tip to change the quality setting. I changed it from Auto to High and it works now.

It's fixed in the unofficial version on github.

Just tested with the latest ver on Github and getting same issue. Changing to High setting didnt help in my case.

I just changed from Auto to High, and everything seems to be playing now. Still waiting for a proper fix for HD.

@shtinky: "High" is HD - 720p60 where available.

I was also having the same problem with videos not working when set to "auto".

@hobbz: Cool, thanks. I thought the api key was just the developer's key. Is that unique to each user? Have I plastered my premium membership access on the internet?

Hope this is fixed somehow.. Kodi is my primary player of GiantBomb videos

Download the master file and replace the contents in the other release with the ones from the master file and HD should work fine.

I'm afraid so, yes. Talk to Rorie and see if the he can get the techies to invalidate it and re-key you. They do ban abused and/or leaked api keys every once in a while.

@trumadYep, you'll have to relink it. I've reset your key, so go to: http://www.giantbomb.com/api/ and follow the prompt to generate a new API key.

Just changed the video quality to High from Auto and it's working again. Thank you!!

@brewster: You can also use the latest pre-release of my fork of the add-on here. Hopefully, it will become the official version real soon now, but I have a few things I want to finish before I hand it off to the Giant Bomb folks to publish in the official add-on repo.

Ive been using the addon for kodi for a while. Last night i was using it. I linked my account in preperation for upgrading my account today. I upgraded my account with a years subscription about 20 mins ago. Now the addon appears to have stopped working. Just keep getting the item failed to play message.

nevermind, it seems to be working now.

I've been using Kodi for a few years, I guess now, never had any problems (rarely had any problems).

But it's not even generating an error right now, it's just not working.

Click on a video, waits a second, and then nothing.
