Video Comments are not loading on Chrome for iOS

I'm using the latest version of Chrome on the latest version of iOS on both an iPhone 6 and the newest iPad. When I click the "Load Comments" button on a video page, nothing appears on the iPhone, and the johnny v gif keeps looping on the iPad. Comments show up fine on articles and podcast pages.

This has been going on for months. Requesting the desktop site in the Chrome menu will get comments and videos to load.

Why would you EVER want to read comments?
