Video player spinner won't dissapear

Apollogies if there's an existing thread or if this is listed as a known issue somewhere. I am using Safari (Version 10.1.1 (12603.2.4)) on macOS 10.12.5 (16F73) Sierra. When watching any live video, there's a spinner on the player that won't go away.

I've had this on my iPad using chrome. Also the chromecast icon doesn't appear. Seems to be iOS exclusive as my android device works fine on the network.
