Videos Wont Play in Chrome

• Operating System: Windows 10 64 bit
• Browser With Version: Google Chrome, Version 84.0.4147.125 (Official Build) (64-bit)

I can't play any video on the site in chrome (works fine in edge). I click the play button but nothing happens. Eventually, the video playback area just goes dark. I can't even pick quality settings or anything. Live streams work fine, twitch and youtube work fine. Its just giant bomb videos in chrome.

Any ideas?

I'm having the exact same problem. Won't work in Chrome, works fine in Edge, black screen after hitting play, etc.

This was mentioned in the video player bug thread and was happening to me. If you have ublock origin or another ad blocker, update it and clear its cache.

Having same prob & turning off uBlock fixed it.

As a premium member, is there any reason to use uBlock on GB?

Turning uBlock off & on for the site still fixed the problem for me if anyone cares. :D

I'll gladly offer whatever info the devs could use to rectify this. I have to click more than a dozen times on a video to load and when it finally takes, it's just a black box.

Does this happen on multiple browsers? Mobile?

Have you tried purging the specific list as suggested in this thread?

@rorie: I'm only logged in on Chrome on Mac and PC.

Does it do the same thing in incognito?
