Visiting the Home Page causes an interruption in background audio playback (iOS)

I’ve noticed something weird which has persisted for some time now. It was minor enough to ignore for a while but I figured it was worth reporting.

If I load Giant Bomb in a new window using Safari for iOS, the page loads and any background audio - Music app playback, Podcasts, etc will pause. It seems something is loading on the page which interrupts CoreAudio.

This behaviour is usually caused by an auto-played media element, but no video appears to be playing, and I’ve been able to reproduce this on both iPhone and iPad devices (running iOS 11.3) with wired, wireless and loadspeaker playback all yielding the same results.

Happy to run other tests if it would help.

There is a bug open for this, but I don't have an ETA on a fix, unfortunately.
