Just a thought, why would a new user need to post more than 1 new thread a day; honestly anytime I see someone new come in a post a bunch of new thread it's almost always garbage and they end up getting called out for shitposting.

Uh, that is weird. I think I remember hitting the cap back in the day and it did stop me from posting more.

Do threads count as posts?

Is not allowing users to post new topics for a couple days too much?

I think this could have been addressed in a less snarky and more productive tone. But yeah, that does seem to be a problem, that they're probably well aware of but it doesn't hurt to point it out just in case.

Maybe move to Bug Reporting?

Yeah, seems like this belongs to Bug Reporting section.

Also, where are the Fight Club references, is this not the internet??

I thought the #1 rule was “don’t be a dick.”

In another thread on this topic, I saw someone speculate that the spammers are somehow manipulating the "create a thread" page to post regardless of the new user restrictions. Who knows, I'm not a web developer.

@bisonhero: Yes, I think it’s only 5 posts a day until you reach 25 posts. So they’ve been spamming/necroing old threads to get their post count up. You should be here between 10:00-13:00 GMT, it’s Korean spam madness.

Moving it to Bug Reporting but I'm also closing the topic.

Everyone responsible for addressing the spam problem is well aware it's an ongoing issue.
