Is there a correct term for "comic book sound effect"

I was looking at the mad word page and then checked the XIII page and noticed that we do not have a concept page for this. Thing is i am not sure is there is a correct term to describe it. Does anyone who is familiar with this know?

The general term for this sort of thing is onomatopoeia. There doesn't seem to a specific term for the sort of onomatopoeia that appears in comics.

It's an onomatopoeia. There's nothing specific to the comic book sounds. It's a sound word, which is an onomatopoeia.
