Before the update to the media player on Giantbomb, I used to be able to use the Firefox download helper to download any Giantbomb video I wanted. I used to download quicklooks or the endurance run, convert it to iPod format, and watch them on the long drives to college.
Now that we've changed the media player, Firefox isn't able to do it anymore. Is there still any way to download the Giantbomb videos, besides pulling them off youtube or whatever. Thanks dudes.
Is there still a way to download Giantbomb videos?
Ye there totally is, open up the page of your chosen video and then look at the address. Lets say:
http://www.giantbomb.com/quick-look-dragon-age-origins-awakening/17-2236/
You then remove the middle part to make it:
http://www.giantbomb.com/video/params/2236/
And then you look at the code to get:
http://media.giantbomb.com/video/vf_dragonageawakening_ql_700.flv
What you looking for is the number assigned to the video (for the Awakening Quick Look its 2236) and then going to http://www.giantbomb.com/video/params/XXXX (where XXXX is the number assigned to it).
Hope it helps :)
I use Orbit Downloader to snag video.
i have the easiest way to do it I think. On Firefox just go to view and then page source(on your chosen video page) and hit ctrl+f and type in .flv. it'll highlight the video and you can download it by pasting the link into your browser =]
(you can change the 700 in the link to 1500 for a higher quality download)
File sizes are pretty large though :D

" I'm assuming someone is archiving all Giantbomb content ever released? "I understand that's one of the goals of the Giant Bomb History Foundation. Which of course does not exist.
