I think Link's Awakening and Link's Awakening (DX) should be combined into one page called Link's Awakening.

While they are separate releases, the only differences are that DX was released for the Game Boy Color and has an additional optional dungeon.  The dungeon has new enemies and a new boss; there is also a new tunic that is given as reward for beating the boss.  However, there are no differences in the story.  And the core of the game remains the same.

I think the two games should be combined and add a section that calls out the differences between the two.

Yeah, it really should of been the same, not much difference in the two.

As someone who wrote out a lengthy entry blurb for Link's Awakening DX, I say "NOOOOO! DON'T DO IT!"
As a reasonable human being, I'd ask "Has the debate about remakes/re-releases been settled yet? Essentially, DX is the same as its predecessor. The key differences are new platform, more powerful platform, Game Boy printer support(remember that thing? God, that was stupid....in a good way) and the color dungeon. Are those differences, at the moment , trivial enough that the two pages should be combined?"

They are 2 seperate games... I fully expect the Chrono Trigger on the DS to have it's own page...

I've already placed this same request but as you can see there is a lot of debate over what constitutes a separate submission and what counts as a re-release. In my eyes, DX is just a director's cut with an extra dungeon added in. Go look at the debates in my Super Mario All-Stars and Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence threads on the same subject. If Super Mario All-Stars requires a merger, then this DX release definitely needs one. The difference between the game is mainly cosmetic after all, adding in just a few bonuses.

After thinking a little bit should definitely be joined, just stupid not to do so.

While I do think that the pages should be joined, I do understand your plea.  I would hate for any of my submissions to disappear into the void.  I think the best solution would be a sort of compromise.  Someone (a mod or Bomb-staff, preferably) should look at the two blurbs and submissions and combine them in a way that preserves the work of all parties involved.

My bad, I didn't look very far back in the requests before I submitted my own.  I agree with what you've said in the other discussions.  If the core of the game is the same between two games, they should be merged.  Re-releases can add significant, ground-breaking content and concepts, but they're still the same in principle.  Any of the additional content can be added as a section within the game description.

I think they should be combined. There's not enough of a difference between the two versions.

Until we at Giant Bomb fully decide what to do about such similar games, lets keep them separate for now.
