On PS3 only game pages it would be nice if there was a tab on the left side (like the achievements one for all other games) that let the user see all the trophies for that game. For example Uncharted 1/2, LBP 1/2, Infamous, etc. Is this at all possible? I would like to see the trophies available for LBP2 without having to search google for it. This doesn't seem unreasonable or too hard to do since it's already integrated for achievements. It would also be nice for multi-plat games to have the trophy equivalent next to the "Achievement" name since 5-20 pts are usually bronze trohpies it would be cool to be able to see that.
Didn't know where else to post this suggestion and I don't know if it's been brought up before.
Just a thought.
Trophies for PS3 only games.
" @Hailinel: Not for games I don't own... "They would have to be added maunaly. I think the current system updates via xbox systems or what not.
" Why does Sony still have no Trophy API? -.- "Microsoft doesn't have one either. Giant Bomb gets that data by scraping. But the difference is that Microsoft hasn't told Giant Bomb not to do that.
" @AndrewGaspar said:But that doesn't mean that the trophy data couldn't be added manually. Sony has an issue with data mining from their site, not from manually providing the data. With some generic bronze, silver, gold, and platinum icons, would be pretty easy to create a standard wiki template for adding trophy data, no?" 1. I hate it when non-staff people say things on behalf of the staff." @cgoodno: Then create a guide explaining what each trophy is. Anyone can do that. The staff are not going to do manual achievement tracking though. "
2. I didn't say the staff would or should do it, but people could submit the items like they do all the other information in the Wiki. All it requires is a wiki template that people would conform to. It would still be reliant on someone entering in the data, not necessarily the staff. Would make a lot more sense to include the info on a page specific to the game in question, especially since it's a list of the trophies, not a guide to obtaining each of the trophies. But, hey, that's just my opinion. I do think Sony's refusal to allow people to data mine is pretty lame (raptr has the same problem and had to stop doing trophy and gameplay session tracking because Sony told them to stop).
I just use ps3trophies.org. They seem to stay on top if things pretty well.
I do really hope the people at Sony pull their heads out of their asses on issue this someday.
" @LordAndrew said:The staff is often too busy to deal with these questions more than once, so it is necessary for other people to speak on behalf of them. " @cgoodno said:Then perhaps there should be a rank/title that should coincide with this level of trust by the staff? Otherwise, I won't remember nor will others. I know it sounds critical, but would you expect anyone else to respond as otherwise when getting a response from 'anyone' on the forums? Or, perhaps I'm missing out on this sort of indication? Manually adding PS Trophies seems like it would largely be a waste of time to me. The whole point of the Achievements system on Giant Bomb is to track people's progress and provide stats & graphs about how users are doing. Manually adding achievements wouldn't do any of this, it would just be re posting information that's already available on other sites. Giant Bomb has never been about copying what other sites are doing, but providing a more unique take on things. Regurgitating the information that's already available on a million other websites really doesn't do this.
Hopefully Sony will allow sites to access trophy data in the near future and this whole thing will be a non-issue. It would be great to have a fully cross-platform achievements system on the site, but until Sony allow it, it's not going to happen.

"Yeah, I got the idea that it wasn't adding your own trophies, but listing all of the trophies by game. Perhaps a guide for tracking all achievements/trophies could be made since it won't be a part of the individual game pages based on feedback. Or, just use a site out there that already collects the trophy lists, though that doesn't 'aid' GiantBomb much. I do have to admit that adding it to the Whiskey API would increase the chances of smaller sites integrating the data and thereby linking to GiantBomb. I haven't looked too much into the API, but if guides are included, there could be a way to make it work.
I understand your complaint, but there are sites wholly dedicated to trophies that will most likely always be more complete and correct, which leaves me questioning the usefulness of it.
I know I wouldn't use it.
" @CL60 said:But it's either that, or manually adding them to every game, which would be a large waste of time." We did have trophies on the site at one point, but they had to be removed. "I don't think he means which one you already got but which ones each games had. "
" @MattyFTM: As a video game website I don't get how you can not think it's important to have a list of trophies that a game has. What would new people finding the site think that a video game website doesn't have such basic information? "But that stuff is there primarily for achievement tracking. If you want that information to be available, you can create a guide. You can even set the guide type to "Achievements/Trophies".
" All I want is to this to get to the top. If they say no that's a bad idea, I'll forget about it and do what @LordAndrew said. "They have already said a few times that PS3 Trophies are not near the top of their list right now. Maybe down the road when Sony makes it easier for them to grab the data, but not anytime soon.
