I would buy this or other DB games just for Kale.

They already have Broly, who's the way more popular version of Cale. No point.

Guess my tastes are too niche to buy the game, then.

My guess, either next season of characters (which will probably be next year) or a sequel.

With Broly, Bardock, Vegito Blue & Merged Zamasu being the current released characters the leak has been accurate so far. Expecting one or more of the Dragon Ball Super version of 17, Cooler, Base Goku and Vegeta to be revealed in a couple of weeks at EVO just like Trunks was last year.
