How many wiki points before one can edit the thumbnails?

More specifically for Characters, a lot of really outdated thumbnail / default pictures used in some areas and I don't necessary want to bother staff with a bunch of requests to deal with as I feel it's mostly cosmetic.

Is there a point threshold one can pass to unlock the ability to make those edits, or is that an edit only staff or designated moderators can make?

@not_rage: I have over 5,000 points now and assume you select "make default" when editing images to make that image the default wiki thumbnail image, correct?

How many points do you need to actually delete images? I've requested the deletion of some useless outdated low quality images on the wiki a long time ago, but nobody ever did anything about them.

@icyeyes: As of now only mods and staff can delete images. It does not matter how many points you have.

Also what is the policy for this since I don't have enough points to do this? Should I just PM any random mod?

That explains why I can't fix Train Valley's thumbnail.
