So, as I do, I've been playing a lot of Resident Evil lately. Specifically both versions of Resident Evil: Revelations, which has helped shown that the two versions are actually quite different from one another, most importantly when it comes down to its Raid mode. In fact the Raid mode of the HD game has been completely rebalanced to make it much, much more difficult and requiring you to grind. There's also a colour-rarity ladder for the loot, more characters, different character properties (like weapon specialisations) weapon parts, and even little things like the effectiveness of the knife being significantly increased. And of course, there's even DLC for the HD version that can't be acquired in the original 3DS release.

It's different enough that trying to write up pieces dedicated to each version across one page seems like a bit of a hassle, and I think the changes to Raid mode are different enough that it should warrant its own page with its ''Unveiled Edition'' subtitle. Deciding what's left as a separate release and what gets its own page is still a little muddy for me, so rather than getting straight to the creation process I figured it best to create a thread instead.

I support this, aside from calling it "Unveiled Edition" since that is only used on the Japanese version's box.

I don't think so, but I'm not a wiki mod, so don't take my word as law. I never touch that side of the thing, but I personally don't think that's enough to justify another page.

I personally feel way too many versions of games get lumped together on the same page. Like stuff from handheld/console getting two entirely different games but they release at similar times and with the same name so they get the same page. That stuff is completely absurd to me.

If RE1 Director's Cut can have a page so can Revelaitons HDizzle in my book. But I'm pro a lot of things in this wiki universe that are seemingly shut down from the high heavens.

You said the same thing in my thread suggesting a page for Diablo III: Ultimate Evil Edition, too ;)

Exactly. Not to mention pages like Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen which is in a similar ballpark in terms of the changes made from one version to the next. The only niggle is how its HD version wasn't given any sort of distinctive subtitle, least not outside of Japan it seems. Though they each at least have different boxarts, which might be enough to help distinguish the two from a first glance. Or could just name the page Resident Evil: Revelations HD.

@yummylee: You clearly remember these things better than I do. :P

I would also argue that Diablo III had more extensive changes, though I haven't played either game, so I'm just talking nonsense.

I don't have any suggestions for you, but I just started playing Revelations again too due to two's announcement, and I may have just stopped again (though I have it out, so maybe not, I don't know). Have you seen the new concept images for two? It's the stormy island and inside jail-like area. Maybe they're on this site already, I haven't checked.

Is there a rule for when this applies and when it doesn't?

They are. I uploaded them (along with the western box design) last night.

@slag: Nope. There's no hard and fast rule. This has been a subject of much debate since the launch of Giant Bomb.

@yummylee: Just as a funny sidenote: This thread made me re-buy a 3DS copy of Revelaitons after I sold mine when the HD ports came out. ;)

So... haven't really gotten much of an answer here about whether it's fine to have two separate Resident Evil: Revelations pages.
