Just saw all the stuff go live to celebrate 10 years of Giant Bomb. Awesome stuff, guys. Really awesome. Looks like a ton of work went into it. Great selection of videos from each year.
First thing I did was check that the Killzone 2 Quick Look was there. It is. All is right with the world.
Can’t believe it’s been a decade. I still vividly remember the launch night. A bunch of us were camped out in the old Justin.tv channel’s chat room waiting for the site to go live and talking about Batman (Cos, you know, The Dark Knight was around then). That was a goofy ass night. I’m in the U.K. so it was like an all-nighter for me. Then the place got slammed so hard that they had to set up that old Crowd Image Moderation tool not long after. Heady freaking days.
Giant Bomb is the world's largest editable video game database. We're into trucks, shooting dudes, and viewers like you.
I was grinning like an idiot rewatching some of that old content. The bug bomb episode, the 2Human ChocoTaco bit, ugh! So good!
Video Thaaangggg. Giant Bomb! It's a website! About video games!
I'm not sure if they need to be on the 10th Anniversary page or not, but the Hotline Miami and Kirby's Epic Yarn Quick Looks will always hold a special place in my heart because of the Patrick/Ryan and Alex/Ryan dynamics...and because they were good damn videos!
I also have a special place in my heart for the first Unplugged series with Dave and V-Bomb, but am happy to have it represented here with Avalon.
Final Quick Look I personally find myself going back to is Drox Operative, because it was a game I'd heard nothing about but Jeff and Ryan's presentation hooked me.
Abby wasn't even born when this site was created! Gosh how time flies. :D
I love this website and the community that surrounds it. Y'all are amazing and have helped me through some rough shit over several of those years. Here's to *AT LEAST* another decade of GiantBomb. Cheers all.
Crazy, man... ten years. Seems like only nine years at most! Patrick was only five, Abby's grandparents were still a twinkle in their own parents' eyes, Vinny had hair, Jeff was only in his 40s (not age, I mean he literally lived inside a 40 oz)... simpler times.
To another decade of the number one Garfield/anime/Mario Party fansite on the world wide web!
It's hard to believe it's been 10 years since this site launched, 10 years since I became a member. There were times when my interest in playing video games wavered, but this site remained a consistent part of my life throughout the entirety of the past decade, regardless. The fine folks that have comprised the Giant Bomb staff, over the years, played a critical role in keeping what interest I did have alive. And now that I'm dipping my toes into the world of game development, I'm more appreciative of that truth than ever before.
So, thank you, Giant Bomb. I look forward to seeing where the next 10 years takes us.
