Obviously there are more, but they're the titles that leap instantly to mind. Duke Nukem 3D really should slot in there somewhere after all the levels I made for it. Man, the Build engine was ace.
The only one I can think of that actually negatively impacted me had to be Counter Strike: Source. I would come home from school, and basically play it until I would go to bed. I got kind of fat, then the server I always played on shut down so I pretty much just stopped. Good thing I did.
1. Lumines ( I put so much time into this game I maxed out the score at 999,999 and got to around level 400 in my best run.) 2. GTA 3 (Fuck you ambulance missions! I WANT INFINITE RUNNING!!!!!) 3. Lumines II (not played as much as the original but it stayed in my psp from the time it came out till I got a copy of God of War CoO) 4. Pokemon Games (I hate myself knowing I own 2 copies of Gold, 1 of silver and a crystal just to get the pokedex 100%) 5. Guitar Hero 1,2,3 6. Jak and Daxter (I dont know why but I completed the game to 100% three times) 7. Spyro Year of the Dragon 8. Crackdown (I can still hear that agility/hidden orb sound ringing in my head) To anyone else thinking of playing the game. USE A GUIDE FOR THE ORBS. Took me months of playing to finally find them all on my own. I also played the original Streets of Rage WAYYYY too much. I beat that game on the hardest difficulty when I was only in 2nd grade LOL.

And Halo 2, which was about the only game I played (with a few exceptions) from Christmas of '04 until around February of '06. I had to have at least 1500 hours racked up on Xbox Live before I stopped playing. Good times. I'm also surprised at some of the games you guys have posted. I guess certain games will suck the lives out of certain people.

These were more than just massive time-sinks. There have been plenty of other games I've played that took huge amounts of time to reach the end. The game I listed were on my mind even when I wasn't playing and I often raced home so I could.

HOLY CRAP Fallout 3. This game is currently dementorizing my soul. Despite my issues with the third person mode (i typically dont like first person games or shooters) I love this game soo, sooooo much. I've done many of the sidequests, and im hoping to have completed it to my hearts content before monday. then eventually i'll buy broken steel.
