This is with no doubt worthy of being in the hall of fame of Giant Bomb tributes. This is an amazing piece of art. Well done!
"A Long Road" - GB 10 Year Tribute Art
There is so much going on here, and it's insane that I recognize almost all of it. GB is really something special...
@fobwashed: ?
I really love this. To paraphrase the infamous film producer Rick McCallum: "it's so dense, this image has so many things going on" - forgive the comparison to the Star Wars prequels, I say it with admiration.
@fatalbanana: yeah, you're right, I wasn't looking at it right lol
Update 1!
The guide in the initial post now contains links to videos to explain EVERY ding-dang reference in the piece. Original videos, best of clips, series pages, bombcast animations, whatever best explains what I was thinking of when I included each item.
Update 2!
The first post also now has the info for printing your own copy, as well as a link to my Ko-Fi if you're feeling generous.
Update 3!
Here's a bonus of the rough sketch and nearly final isolated art for the "main" part. (Minus Abby. She was on another layer I forgot to turn on when I saved that one.)
This is seriously an awesome thread! Most of the jokes I am aware of, but definitely keeping this tab open and will rewatch a lot of the goofs throughout the next week or two! Thanks Duders and Dudettes for this decade!
Update! I added a guide to the original post with the 93 (!) different points of interest.
And as for prints of this, I don't think I'm gonna try and sell it anywhere (and there's way to much copyrighted content on this thing for GB to ever sell), so if you want a poster of it, feel free to take the high res art in the original post and print your own. Just note:
- It's formatted for 11x17, so that's the ideal print size
- Make your own, just don't sell it! That should go without saying, right? Cool. Thanks.
You are the hero we don't deserve!
I ordered a print of this and it came out perfect! This will get a special Place in my home office aka my gaming room^^
For some reason this is shown in a weird size...
Giantbomb is my religion, and this poster is the shit.
I got it slightly larger than your sized recommendation (I went for an A2 size - I don't know what weird US equivalent that is). It very very slightly pixelates at that size, but only upon really close scrutiny. From sitting at the desk it is very clear.
Awesome work again duder, this might be my favourite piece of GB memorabilia. Having been on the site since even before Day 1, there's a lot of deep cuts in your poster that bring some good memories. And some references that I missed that I need to go back and watch!
Awesome work!!! thank you so much for making this and making it available for us all! To another 10 years
Anyone else coming back to this thread to print one now that Alex, Vinny, and Brad are leaving? Specifically, I'm having a devil of a time getting it printed and finding a frame, as I live in Australia and we have the pesky metric system so the 11 x 17 inch stuff is difficult. I've found Vistaprint that do a very similar to 11 x 17 size (they offer 286mm x 439mm, while a direct conversion is 279.4mm x 431.8mm) but can't find many frames in that size, only a few on amazon that are quite expensive.
Any other non-americans gone through this and have any tips?
